Why do I do it to myself?

Recommended Posts

Such a lively thread. I am so tired of regular LBT. I know it's necessary for people to do their research when thinking about the band.

How do you cruise the board? I usually go to new posts. But lately it's mostly people who are doing what they need to do, which is research the band. Where do people go who have the band and are just cruising along without problems go to get their daily dose of LBT?

I think one of the more amazing things about me having a band is that, after three years banded, I learn somethuing new almost every day......

....unlike some Band Practitioners. :heh:

So Wedall, do you just go to your subscribed posts, do you go to new posts, or how exactly do you find where you want to read LBT?

I know that I personally just have certain forums that I go to. I am usually in Rants and Raves, the Talk Lounge, food, General Discussion, and Support. I just check for interesting sounding threads.

You'll find interesting threads that pertain to you in all the forums. I spent the vast majority of my time in RnR and Talk Lounge, but I don't ignore the rest of the forums. I don't read every thread in them, but I do read the ones that sound interesting. You just have to find what works for you.

Just curious...are you returning to Mexico for your TT?

Yes, I am. There is a plastic surgeon that works out of the same hospital as my band surgeon and he's doing it (Dr. Bello). My only issue now is if it want a breast lift and implants at the same time as the TT. Daily I change my mind and I'm not sure what I want to do. I've been to three plastic surgeons and keep getting different opinions about what happens to implants 10 years from now. Two in Mexico and one in the US.

Is he in TJ or Mexicali? I have not yet heard of him. I talked with some ladies who had already done their work at this years Bash, and doing the whole thing seems to be pretty common. I think if you're doing a lower body lift, that would be more involved, and you may not want to include the breasts for that surgery.

Well, you've said (at least, I think it was you that said it) in the past that you only wanted to do either one or two surgeries (or at least, go under anesthesia) after banding. If there's more that you want to have done, and you still want to limit the number of times under anesthesia, I'd go ahead and do it. I mean, there's always going to be advances in medicine. If you put off surgeries just because you worry about what may happen in the future, you'd never have surgery. And hell, you'll be in pain anyway, might as well go whole hog.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
