If i was going to eat something after not eating for a long time it wouldn't be trash peasant food like Red Lobster. Lol if you are going to eat seafood, eat real seafood.

I thought their slogan was "Come see what's fresh today". Their new slogan of "Trash peasant food" doesn't sound very good for their business.

Probably not. I have a marketing degree but I wouldn't waste my skills on Red Lobster. Maybe Bonefish Grill...

I'm about to hit 3 months post op. There isn't much I am no longer allowed. That said, Protein first, not to mention the physical consequences of poor CHOICES, makes this easy. Darwin will take care of this.

We have a local place called Lucky Fins that's amazing. I can't get enough of their Ahi.

Like the comment about infant stomach that's exactly what I compare my new self to. I am training myself to eat correctly and right amounts. Your new stomach can hold only about 2-4 ounces of food each meal. No drinking anything at least 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after. You will fill up with liquid and not get the Protein you need. My diet was no caffeine, alcohol, sugar, carbs. Just Water and Protein.

Everyone's post-op plan is different, I'm on week 7 and I'm allowed to start introducing basically any food chewed very well, just no more than 1/2 cup, although I've been sticking to small salad with little bits of shredded turkey. My plan is in no way close to others I've seen on here

Week 7 is a lot longer out than the 25 days.

I can't say if the op is a troll or not. If she isn't then I truly feel sorry for her. The horrible choices that she is making can be life threatening at her stage of the game. Hopefully the reason why she hasn't responded yet isn't because she is laying in a hospital bed somewhere.

There is enough information in her bio to figure out that she isn't a troll. I was able to find her on farcebook and she posted recently. The only thing that I can say is that she needs help and I feel sorry for her.

I think she got it that it wasn't the brightest idea to eat that food, since she hasn't been back. I wonder what the next piece of entertainment will revolve around? Cookies, baby back ribs or deep dish pizza?!?

It seems She had surgery to lose 50 lbs. She lost close to a third of that. Her goal weight is higher than some of the starting weights. Her goal weight serves her for her stated profession.

Nothing to see here for me. The moment she Hits 240, life will be good..

...moving on...

You know what, It's not what I would have but don't let anyone get you down or feel beat up. Look, this is a hard process. We don't know what kind of information you have or what kind of support you have. You focus on eating the Protein on that plate and understand it's not the healthiest. But you could barely eat any of it and your stomach won't blow up. The only real danger is setting high caloric habits now that will counteract the positive benefits of your surgery.

But the food looked great and I'm sure it tasted great too! I hope you aren't feeling too down, I'm sure you got what feels like some nasty responses but try to focus on the good information - I see some good tips in the thread, and ignore any judgements as they don't help you get to where you need to be.

I am 6 days post-op Gastric Bypass and that plate and the specific cocktail you named sounds amazing to me!!! I know it's the devil in angel clothes though because it's that same kind of plate and drink that made me an out of control food addict, and miserably overweight... I am reminded of why I have gone through this tremendously painful surgery and very expensive out of pocket expense when I see this plate and can't help but feel ashamed that I'm even slightly tempted. I'm not judging you, but please always remember why you had surgery. Remember how far you have come and what an absolute blessing you have been given with your new tool, and don't abuse it. I want you to be as successful as possible, and we all have our own demons we must confront, so stay strong on your path and don't give in to temptation!!! I don't see a problem with a few bites if you can stop there, as long as your doc says it's okay. Take care of yourself always!

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.

Some days I feel like an infiltrator... I'm participating in society as a "thin" person. They have no idea that I haven't always been one of them! 🤣

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!
