  11. It's a process. It will take time getting up to both the Protein and Water goals. Remember you can get fluids from more than just water. You'll get there. Give yourself credit. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  12. Hi Megan and welcome! Happy to help any way I can. Tough love is my style! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  13. This is totally dependent on your starting bmi. I started at 35 and dr said to expect to lose 35lbs in 6 months, 70lbs at 1 year. When was the last time you dropped 50 in 6 months?!? Sounds like success to me! Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  14. I thought I'd be less claustrophobic with the nose mask but I couldn't master it. I switched to mouth and nose and it was way easier Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  19. Speaking for myself, it makes me upset because they are posting about it for sympathy or support. I don't want to be part of someone's bad behavior and certainly don't enjoy watching others enable each other's bad choices. There are so many people on here struggling with a lack of support from family who think they shouldn't have/need surgery, worried about complications or failure. People like OP are the stereotype of wls failure. They make it harder for others. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  20. I have the most difficulty when I forget my Prilosec. The acid makes me "feel" hungry. I come to the app, read something stupid someone ate, then I'm fine. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  22. I'm 3 months post op and stalled repeatedly. I'd increase my calories and get another drop. The body is just catching up and reregulating. Check your choices, follow your plan, get enough rest and just keep swimming. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  23. I've only heard it done in response to severe GERD. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  24. I have a goal to weigh weekly and measure monthly, logging both into Baritastic app. I get a bit obsessive and go through phases of weighing multiple times a day. It's ridiculous and not where I want my headspace. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  25. First of all you can't report to HIPAA because it's a law not an organization. You can complain to AMA. The fines are up to $250K dependent on negligence and they are given a timeline to correct the problem. You were asked to shred. This is common. Frequently the accompanying documents will state that if you are not the intended recipient that you should contact sender and destroy. If you are going to request in person then you can return the materials to the office manager. While mistakes like this are alarming it's best to give the organization an opportunity to learn from and correct the mistake. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  26. I will be three months post op on 1/18. I have NO regrets. I thought about canceling many times pre op because I didn't want to fail. I kept changing my habits and was finally confident a week before. My sister had the sleeve three years before me and did poorly (due to her own bad choices-no Vitamins, high sugar diet) and is back to her starting weight. I have been diligent with vitamins, following my eating plan. I look better than ever. My skin and hair look great and even though I could be said to be losing slowly, I'm lighter than I've been in 8 years. I get compliments every day. It's a personal choice and surgery is a tool, not a magic wand. Good luck, whatever you decide. HW 232 SW 202 CW 179 Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  29. I took a month off and could have used another. Is a full time job to manage fluids, meals, meds and rest. I believe I benefited from it being slow and listening to my body. Hang in there Alli Sunshine. A year from now the first couple of months will be a blur. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
  30. I'm about to hit 3 months post op. There isn't much I am no longer allowed. That said, Protein first, not to mention the physical consequences of poor CHOICES, makes this easy. Darwin will take care of this. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
