Scared out of my mind

My surgery is Monday the 9th and everyday that gets closer, the more freaked out I am. I've been so excited about this since October of last year and it's all I've wanted. I was so confident and sure this was it. Now with less then a week until surgery I am completely freaked! I don't want to never enjoy food again. I'm scared of surgery, of the pain. I'm scared it's going to be miserable afterwards. I'm scared of making a mistake. I'm just scared shitless. I know I want to be healthy, I want to be a normal weight, I want to be in control of my weight and eating habits. But right now I am petrified. I'm telling myself i haven't tried dieting hard enough, I'm telling myself this isn't what I want. God I just needed to rant. I feel like I'm losing it. I am so scared.

Don't be scared! I had mine on Monday and I'm only having some feelings like I did too many sit-ups. You'll be a success! We need this tool to live a healthy life and not continue doing the yo yo diets and taking medication. This is for you! To save your life! You got this!

@@haleymarie - I have been having a combination of Premier Protein shakes and shakes I am making myself out of a mix of sugar free pudding and Protein powder. They also have 30 G of protein and 160 calories. I am under 1000 calories a day. Confession and pretty please, no judgments :-) : I haven't gone completely off caffeine yet. Still having one cup a day. Do you think that might be it? Also have only been able to get in 50 oz of liquid daily. Will try harder today.

@@leahhindi my surgeons office told me no premier protien at all during the preop diet. They also told me no pudding. Only Atkins, jello, and broth. And no sugar at all. So the pudding could possibly be it. But you could just be losing slowly. I wouldn't worry to much about it.

No premier but you are allowed Atkins? That is the complete opposite from my surgeon. It's interesting how instructions can be so different.

@@Inner Surfer Girl, yeah 5 Atkins high protein shakes a day lol premier has too much protien they sajd

I guess that makes sense for pre-op when you still will want as much volume as possible. Post-op, having a higher protein ratio is critical for being able to get in enough protein for minimal volume.

Drink more water (non caloric drinks). I wouldn't worry about weight loss during pre-op unless you were given a requirement of pounds to lose. The purpose is to shrink your liver by reducing the glycogen stored.

@@haleymarie - Do you mind if I ask what your weight and height is or BMI. I am at 38-ish and had been strictly dieting up until the pre-op diet so wondering if I am just not losing as fast bc of the prior dieting. Thanks!

I am 5'4 and currently weigh 237, when I started this in February I was 284 and I have lost 47 pounds from dieting and 17 from liquid diet...I think my bmi is 43 or something...i also am only doing shakes and water nothing else at all

@@haleymarie - You have inspired me! :-)

I am going to try to eliminate all of the "goodies" I am allowed to have like skim milk and fat free sugar free yogurt.

(NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD CONSIDER THESE THINGS GOODIES!!)

We are almost there!
