Have to Brag

Recommended Posts

On Saturday I ran 10 miles for my half marathon training! I'd been dreading it all week, because 9 miles the previous weekend had been really tough, but I feel like I had some sort of breakthrough with the 10 miles. I felt like I could have kept going (which I guess is good, because I'll have to keep going soon!). My half marathon is only 5 weeks away now and I am really starting to believe I'll be able to actually do it!

That's awesome!! I remember my first (and only) half marathon and it was such absolute hell because I had not actually trained for it so by the time I was done little old ladies were beating me and I briefly considered jumping off the bridge that was the last mile and swimming to the finish because it might have hurt less. On race day you will be energized by the crowds and all of the people cheering for you and this helps make it go by faster than training runs. Congrats on your long run! I would die if I had to run 10 miles right now, lol.

That is fantastic, Good for you!! I know the feeling you speak of and it is a wonderful feeling. I had it when I reached 5.4 miles on the trike this past Friday. I finally believed I would be able to do the 14 mile bike challenge in Feb. An even better feeling was when a co worker told me she was training too and rode 2 miles and would be right beside me during the challenge.

Your going to breeze right through this marathon. Be sure someone takes pictures of you crossing the finish line with that smile a yard long on your face.

Congrats! If you've still got 5 weeks to go, you're definitely going to be prepared for those 13 miles. Good luck with the rest of your training!

At one month out, that's a hefty goal! Once I was cleared for intense exercise at 3 months post-op, I did Couch to 5k and ran in a 5k race every month last summer. Now I'm kicking off this year's running season with this half marathon, hoping to do some 10k races over the summer, then finish up with another half marathon in September!

Good job! I'm running a 1/2 marathon on April 9 (I think that's the date) so my last long run was this weekend. I'm also doing the Tinker Bell 1/2 marathon at Disneyland on Mother's day. Glad you're training is going so well. I remember when you first posted about it and wanted to know if you were crazy! We told you it would be good! Good luck with the rest of your training!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
