January or February 2016 Sleevers?

Welp, the monthly support forum has not been updated for 2016. I know there's a thread somewhere for December & January sleevers, but thought I'd include you January peeps in honor of the upcoming year. Share your dates, doctor/nut/psych visits, tests, hopes, and whatever else you want to share pertaining to your surgery. Feel free to offer encouragement and cheerleading as warranted. Maybe everyone can link up with some sleeve buddies!

I'll start. I have 100 to 130 pounds to lose (no goal set yet). My sleeve was supposed to be in January. Instead, my husband needs to go out of the country on business in the middle of the month and can't guarantee he'll be back, so I'll probably be sleeved in February. It's frustrating to me because my insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I finished that the week before Thanksgiving (U.S.) I'm scheduled to attend the final "class" they require all patients to take on Dec. 17. My endoscopy is Jan. 13. I could easily have made it in December, but hubby didn't want me restricted over the Holidays. (I had thyroid surgery with complications last year just before Christmas, so I understand how he feels.) Still, you can imagine my frustration now that my surgery needs to be pushed back again!

Who's next?

*Mods please move this to the appropriate forum when you update the support groups.

So far I see three of us sisters for the 26th!

I'm scheduled for January 26th!

@@L.o.v.e Thanks LOVE! Day two is almost done with! Just enjoying a bowl of cream of potato soup that has been whipped to a full cream! Kinda glad to be going thru this right now. The warm soups are a comfort on these frigid days! Couldn't imagine doing them in hot, humid days!

A lot of folks say after the 3rd day it gets easier. Your almost to day three hang in there you will make it.

I think walking girl is four! You,me, Mimisan and Walking Girl. However I am on so many threads I may be confused as I haven't seen Mimisan posting in quite a while. I don't even remember if she is a part of this thread or not. But I thought her surgery date was also Jan 26th.

I just got my date, February 16th at Kaiser West Los Angeles! I can't wait! My wife and I are renewing our vows for our 25th anniversary in November, I plan on looking good for her! Lol

Just think you all will be smoking hot this summer

Is it wrong to say I kinda fantasize about this being a real possibility this summer? I want to wear a bathing suit that doesn't have a skirt on it!

It's not wrong it's perfectly fine and I think you should get the one you want and hang it up where you can see it so whenever you feel weak your goal is right there.

came home today after 2 nights in the hospital. everything went well, just hoping that i recover quickly, not feeling so great.

I hope you get to feeling better, quickly!

Congratulations on your 25th! That is so sweet that you want to look good for your renewed bride! Best of luck on your upcoming surgery. You will be a fine looking groom by November! Enjoy your new journey!

Hello again everyone.

Saw my doc today. He said we need to do all the bloodwork to see what else besides chronic knee pains I have. Tomorrow I go for sonogram and blood. This is the one time I hope that my lipids or my blood sugar are up.

Tuesday I meet the NUT and then they submit. I'm getting very very nervous here. If I don't get approved I can't afford the surgery. I'm hoping for the best!

@@thegentleoso Congrat's on your 25th! Best of luck on your surgery! You will be rockin' the tux at your renewal! Happy Honeymoon! ;)

I just got the call yesterday that I was approved by BCBSIL! (They initially denied me in December.) Official surgery date not yet set but office said it would be end of Feb or beginning of March. I need a cardio clearance appt date and then they will schedule my surgery date. My surgeon requires a 2 week full liquid pre-op diet.

Excited and a bit overwhelmed.

Hello,

My insurance required 90 days and all these test and weight management appointments. I used a group in NJ and they had everything right there. I'm done with everything my date has been set for 3 months and now I'm have my sleeve February 1, 2016. My Birthday is on the 10 so happy birthday to me. Currently on my doctors pre op diet which consist of soup with nothing in them, broths, yogurt, ice pops, fish, water and protein shakes. It's hard I can't lie, but I'm making it.

i meet with my Internal Medicine Dr. on the 28th of Jan and hoping to get referred to surgeon at that time. My question is after reading everyone's posts. I was never instructed to lose any specific weight nor was i monitored to be weighed in all the time. I guess i'm confused to what is required of me. I just saw a Nutricianist and physical therapy took a few information seminars and that was it. I guess each insurance requirements are different. It has been 6 months. I don't really know what to expect now? any ideas?

Yes. Every insurance is different. To prevent further confusion I recommend you call you insurance and see what their requirements as they vary so much between insurances.

Just came back from my Nut appt. it went well. My lab results are back. I have cholesterol and hga1c slightly high. LDL is high and low vit D. Between that and my Hx of arthritis I'm hoping is enough for insurance approval. My weight keeps creeping up. It was 196 when I first went and it's 202 today. Ugh!!! Can't wait to get started on this process. They require a 2 week pre op diet. I have another appt with NUT at beginning of February and also a Endoscopy.

So it's looking like it will be end of March/beginning of April for me.
