January or February 2016 Sleevers?

Welp, the monthly support forum has not been updated for 2016. I know there's a thread somewhere for December & January sleevers, but thought I'd include you January peeps in honor of the upcoming year. Share your dates, doctor/nut/psych visits, tests, hopes, and whatever else you want to share pertaining to your surgery. Feel free to offer encouragement and cheerleading as warranted. Maybe everyone can link up with some sleeve buddies!

I'll start. I have 100 to 130 pounds to lose (no goal set yet). My sleeve was supposed to be in January. Instead, my husband needs to go out of the country on business in the middle of the month and can't guarantee he'll be back, so I'll probably be sleeved in February. It's frustrating to me because my insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I finished that the week before Thanksgiving (U.S.) I'm scheduled to attend the final "class" they require all patients to take on Dec. 17. My endoscopy is Jan. 13. I could easily have made it in December, but hubby didn't want me restricted over the Holidays. (I had thyroid surgery with complications last year just before Christmas, so I understand how he feels.) Still, you can imagine my frustration now that my surgery needs to be pushed back again!

Who's next?

*Mods please move this to the appropriate forum when you update the support groups.

Tomorrow I have my last appointment with my surgeon and will be submitting to the insurance.. Usually takes a week for approval and another couple for the date.. Game time is here.. Excited and nervous.. It's been a long 7 months waiting

I feel just like you

@Terance ✌❤ Plenty of room on the bench for us Terance, cause they are all losing fast, and making more room! LOL

@Leslie11 My manicure is tomorrow for surgery on Tues morning. Had my pedi done this week!

@@Leslie11 Had my pedi done Monday, and tomorrow is mani! LOL Us women think alike!

Pedicure sounds fantabulous ????

I think I may do that before my surgery also. ????????????????

My surgery was 1/15 and getting in all my ounces and water is tough! Some days it's easy other days I feel nauseous and don't want to drink a thing. I haven't felt hungry at all (ever) since surgery. However I have some serious cramping going on that kicks at the worst of times.

Thankfully the post-surgery soreness is gone now (for the most part).

Aw you had yours on my bday ☺️ are you not able to drink so much or simply not being able to sip it without the urge to gulp is the hard part?

Happy belated birthday!!! And gulping isn't the issue, it's remembering to drink the liquids and allowing myself enough time to complete the meal. Pre-op I was grab and go, and now I have to sit down and give myself time for things to go down. It's a weird concept.

Thanks so much ☺️ omg you sound like me I eat on the go which means most of the time my shirt is wearing my meal I'm always evening at work I forget to eat because I'm always on full blast and by the time I get home I'm exhausted and rather sleep than eat smh oh what a tangled web we weave lol

I also did the mani/pedi thing the day before my surgery 2 weeks ago. When I had my pre-op meeting at the hospital w/ nurse & anesthesiologist the afternoon before my procedure, they said no nail polish! They said polish interferes with an accurate HR monitor reading or oxygen saturation reading (can't remember)--the thingy they clip onto your finger. My compromise was to remove gel polish from one finger & one toe (sometimes they clip that thing onto a toe! Well, 2 weeks later & my mani/pedi still looks great...except for the one bare finger & toe, LOL!

@Terance ✌❤ There will be plenty of room for us on the loser's bench, Terance! They are all losing quickly and making room for us! LOL

@@Leslie11 getting my mani/pedi today for surgery Tuesday! Checked with Dr and he said it was ok. You know us girls, gotta look pretty! LOL

I am hoping to be sleeved in February. I have done all my classes and steps, and see my doctor on Thursday. I am hoping at that appointment, I will be able to schedule my surgery consult. My fear at this point is that there will be more hoops. I am preparing myself, but I know I will be disappointed if there is more of a delay. I am nervous about the two weeks of liquids that my program requires pre-op, But I am trying to look at it like a very small sacrifice. I am self pay, so no insurance hold ups. Just ready to get this going!

I just got the call Tomorrow Tuesday Jan 26th at 11:30 I am to go to the hospital. Have been on 2 days of clear liquids. Had pictures taken today. This has been a long journey as I had been trying for many years to lose weight on my own and when I first saw the surgeon I had all ready lost 145 pounds. He put me on a 6 month supervised diet as was requested by my insurance. So from June until today I lost another 36 pounds. Now the remaining 162 will come off with the tool of having the sleeve.

Just an FYI, my surgeon/the hospital had me remove all polish prior to surgery. Today, i was able to get my pedi (day 11)

Today is the day I begin a new life! Leaving for the hospital in a half hour! Talk to you laters, gators!

Good luck!!

Good luck sleeve sister. Wow you got a early surgery time, mine isn't until 12:30 today. The not being able to drink anything is really difficult as my throat is so dry it is hurting me. Hope we both have an easy surgery. Mine will be longer as the gallbladder is coming out and the surgeon may also have to take the umbilical hernia out if he can't work around it, in addition to getting the sleeve. Let us know how you are doing. I will be in for 1 night I hope and back into my bed Wednesday night.
