  6. My sleeve surgery is scheduled for February 3. I was supposed to have sleeve surgery on October 21 but wound up being diagnosed with kidney cancer in Sept. The cancer was completely removed in October and I got the all clear from the kidney surgeon to proceed with the sleeve surgery. I go for preadmission testing and a last consult with the bariatric surgeon on Jan 14. At that time ill find out what kind of pre-op diet I need. I'm glad to have found this group!

  11. I jumped through the hoops and had my sleeve surgery scheduled for October 21. Then early September through a CT scan for some abdominal pain (which turned out to be an intestinal infection) they found a solid mass on my kidney. So instead of having sleeve surgery on Oct 21, I had kidney surgery on Oct 20. The mass on my tumor did turn out to be malignant but the good news is, they got it all. I talked to the bariatric surgeon's office and if the kidney surgeon is ok with it, we can reschedule the sleeve surgery for early February. I see the kidney surgeon next week so we'll see what he says.

  18. It's not a requirement for my insurance but my doctor requires it. I'm a little nervous! It's my last hurdles before having it submitted to insurance.
  19. I have T2D; this is the biggest reason I am doing this.

  21. My surgery date is October 21. I got my approval from my PCP and the pysch evaluation. I have one nutritional appointment left and my endoscopy is tomorrow. As long as the endoscopy goes well and insurance approves it. October 21 is the date! I'm happy to find others having their surgery around the same time.
  22. I just got my surgery date - October 21!! I'm having my surgery in NJ with Dr. Chau.
  23. I'm Grace. I'm in my 50s , have T2D and a BMI of 36. I have 5 children ranging in age from 14-27. I have one beautiful granddaughter. I have my own business, a wonderful family, good friends. My faith is important to me. I love to read, spend time with my family, plan vacations. I just got my surgery date for October and it's like a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm scared and excited all at the same time.
