January or February 2016 Sleevers?

Welp, the monthly support forum has not been updated for 2016. I know there's a thread somewhere for December & January sleevers, but thought I'd include you January peeps in honor of the upcoming year. Share your dates, doctor/nut/psych visits, tests, hopes, and whatever else you want to share pertaining to your surgery. Feel free to offer encouragement and cheerleading as warranted. Maybe everyone can link up with some sleeve buddies!

I'll start. I have 100 to 130 pounds to lose (no goal set yet). My sleeve was supposed to be in January. Instead, my husband needs to go out of the country on business in the middle of the month and can't guarantee he'll be back, so I'll probably be sleeved in February. It's frustrating to me because my insurance requires 6 months supervised diet. I finished that the week before Thanksgiving (U.S.) I'm scheduled to attend the final "class" they require all patients to take on Dec. 17. My endoscopy is Jan. 13. I could easily have made it in December, but hubby didn't want me restricted over the Holidays. (I had thyroid surgery with complications last year just before Christmas, so I understand how he feels.) Still, you can imagine my frustration now that my surgery needs to be pushed back again!

Who's next?

*Mods please move this to the appropriate forum when you update the support groups.

Had my surgery this morning. It went great so far. Only pain is the gas. My fiance has me walking and walking and walking. The gas is in my chest so it's not moving much :( other than that doing great :)

Sure thing. I'm becoming less nervous since being on here. A great place for support.

I seem more nervous now, I hap my pre-surgery testing done today and tomorrow is my clearance from my primary. I feel so overwhelmed I want to cry.

Today was my first day of my diet and I feel so light headed. I know that's from not really eating much.

I just wish it was over already.

Glad your feeling good except for the gas. I sure hope I'm as lucky.

I'm scheduled for Mon Jan 18! Anyone out there having it that day?

Thankfully my insurance required nothing but a 40+ BMI over a 5 year period. No dieting required. I had the endoscopy, a sleep study just as a precaution.Saw the nutritionist, attended a Nutrition class and did the psych counseling require by my surgeon, I am now approved and ready to go. I know some of you have been waiting for months,

I'm getting pretty nervous, I worry most about dying during surgery! Silly I know but I am always that one that thinks it will happen to them since the percentage is so low! :-/

Start liquids and protein powder on Monday. Just have to do it for a week. I'm not stressing on that, I am stressing on when I get home and not screwing up. I keep hearing Small sips every 10 mins. Trying to figure out the definition of small is freaking me out. I guess it is maybe trial and error. One thing I know for sure is i am ready to look good and feel even better! This is something only my husband and I know about. I want to keep it that way. We tend to be hermits in the winter and hibernate, never socializing much in this midwest weather. Come spring I hope to see some surprised looks as the socializing begins again. Thank you for adding me!

@@sarah2haynes@gmail.com My nutritionist said a sip is the size of a small plastic pill cup like they put medications in in the hospital. Congrat's to those who have already been thru the surgery! You give me inspiration! Prayers for speedy recovery! Those of us scheduled other days this month, good luck and hang in there thru the liquid pre-op phase. I start mine the 14th for 2 wks, and I know I will be a bear! LOL

@@KristenLea91 congrats!!! Hope you'll have an easy recovery, and keep us updated!

Well you have support here! It's everything, without it you can feel alone any confused! We will be there for you, just stay connected!im set for surgery on Thirsday January 7, 2016

Hey JLyn....thank u for ur support I willwill b praying for u nd with u I just left from seeing the surgeon nd his team so I'm all set for next Wednesday the 13th again thank u much

You got it! On my way, in an hour!!!

Before going to college I was quiet and shy. Going off to college was my chance to reinvent myself into who I wanted to be. I speak my mind and am a leader. I even don't mind speaking in front of a group. This is a perfect excuse, if not telling your friends is your choice to tell them you are on a journey to lose weight to feel better about yourself. Your new friends won't know your pre/post surgery diet so seeing you with protein drinks and watching what you eat will be new to them as well. If you are not comfortable telling them, then don't. If anyone asks how you lost the weight tell them you are working very hard at it. YOU ARE so that is the truth.

I was supposed to have it Jan 13th, but have to postpone it because of delay in approval. The waiting sucks :( I'm so stressed out

EEEEEEEEEEEeeeeeeek! I got my date! February 15. I'm so happy! (She offered the 22nd at first, but I asked if I could possibly get an earlier date since my class was on Dec. 17 and I had already had 6 mos. of dietitian visits and was more than ready.)

Got my date today! January 25 will be the first day of The Year of Me! Can't wait to start this life transformation!

Congrats everyone! I found out today my surgery will be February 16!
