    Crazy diets

Ahhh Orlistat...The stuff makes you shi@ motor oil.
  2. I'm not sure when the pain was the worst honestly. I do know that I had lithotripsy (spelling?) and it was easier to pass the broken up stone rather than the big one. I really hope that you can pass this quickly because the pain is no joke.
  3. I have always been one to drink a lot of water and I still get them suckers. The Urologist told me that some people are just more prone to getting them and he just suggested I stay hydrated and let him know if I am having problems. A shot of Toradol was what helped me and when I was actually passing the stones, I would sit in a hot bath with a bucket to throw up in.

    Crazy diets

I remember 2 of my coworkers injecting themselves with hcg and barely eating. I considered trying it but the injecting myself part creeped me out. There's no telling what was in those vials.
  5. The only thing that has helped for me is sitting in a hot bath. Those suckers are no joke. I hope that the Urologist can fix you up quickly so you don't have to suffer with that kind of pain anymore. The only thing that has helped for me is sitting in a hot bath. Those suckers are no joke. Pre-Op Weight Loss

They put us on a little to no carb high protein diet 2 weeks before the surgery and by the time they weighed me on my surgery day I had lost 15 pounds. It was mostly lean meats and no more than 4 ounces per meal.

    Lets talk sausage....

Sorry I needed to compose myself.. I am not sure but I think its mostly lean meat they want us to eat. Although,I like mine with some "girth" as well. Lmao

    The BEST meatloaf

Yum, my mouth is watering just thinking about it.
  9. I think the best description someone here posted was that it felt like you did 500 situps. Its honestly not bad. If you laughed through childbirth you will giggle through the recovery, lol
  10. Same here! I want salty! Lol

    The BEST meatloaf

I can't wait until I can eat food because I will try this out. I usually add salsa to my meatloaf to get the onions, peppers, and tomato flavor. Thanks for sharing!
  12. Also, milk has been making me gag too. They say our taste buds can change but I wish mine would have waited a week, lol
  13. I can have skim milk, yogurt, pureed fruits, crystal light, and broth. For some reason, the sweet stuff is making me gag so I have been surviving on broth. I switched to Flinstones complete until next week when I start puree.
  14. Good luck on your surgery! You will do great! I am one week post op and I am looking forward to the puree stage. I am also having issues getting my protein in and my vitamins. Once I put "thicker" substance in my diet, I will do much better. I ordered the unflavored protein to add to anything I can so I can get enough in. I have always had severe nausea issues with vitamins unless I actually had food in my stomach. These liquids are not cuttin it.
  15. Pain medication isn't needed in my opinion. I guess it just depends on your pain tolerance.

    Patch MD Update

Does the patch help with nausea? I can't take my vitamins because they are making me puke and I am 6 days post op so all I can have is liquids. Even the yogurt, milk and thick protein shakes aren't enough for my belly to prevent nausea. I even tried grinding the vitamins into my shakes but its not helping.
  17. I am glad you feel better. I hope your recovery is nice and smooth for you
  18. I had similar pain but I just made myself get up and walk so that I was forcing myself to breathe deeply. If it gets worse or if you spike a fever, call your RN to see what you should do.

    first night home

I got home Wednesday and this morning was my most pain so far. I slept flat on my back instead of propped up so that could be why. I took my meds and walked at least 10 minutes and now I feel better. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. I notice that it hurts when I swallow my protein shakes. My chest area gets really tight but then it passes. I guess its my body getting used to the new restrictions. I hope your recovery will be as easy as mine so far. Hugs!

    No alcohol ever?!

I have two friends who had the sleeve and still drink. They both say they would have lost the weight much faster if they didn't drink. They both look fabulous though I don't drink much so I don't think it will be an issue. I think most docs worry about trading one addiction for another or how it will affect your organs.

    Anyone having surgery Feb. 15th?

I am in the hospital and I had my surgery yesterday I have been very blessed so far. The pain has not been bad and I am practically running down the halls (according to my mom). I am having trouble sleeping right now because I amurinating quite a bit. Overall, I feel good.

You know you lost weight when

When your panties feel a bit loose when you put them on in the morning and during the course of the day, they somehow end up falling down (this is the part where you thank the Lord that your pants prevent them from falling all the way down) Thank goodness I was not wearing a skirt or I may have walked myself right out of those suckers.
