Rny 11/18/14. Sw289 cw184. I've never counted calories just estimated, kept the Water and Protein up always! My workout is an hour on the treadmill 3-4 times a week. I've had many plateaus and one lasted over a month! I'm losing so much slower now and it's not every week that I can see a loss. I have 24 pds til goal which I set at 160. Once I get there I may reevaluate and take it from there. Moral of the story, keep going..work hard and enjoy the progress you make no matter how much you lose or how fast you lose! You will get there and that's all that matters! post-236634-14386888905013_thumb.jpg

You look fabulous!!!! Congrats on your success. :) the closer to goal, and lighter we are, the slower the weight loss. Stupid science, making it tough for all of us! You will make it there!!! Only 24 lbs away :D

This is an encouraging thread. Loss is slower than I thought also. About 25 pounds since surgery June 16, 15. Never gone over 700 cal, or 75 carbs. I do need to step up the exercise though.

Thanks everybody.

any time I would slow down or platu, I would up my Protein and cut carbs as much a humanly possible. AND up Water. :-)

I'm new to this site but I've participated in a few current topics/ threads. I've been maintaining since 2010, almost 18mo after an RNY.

Browse around under the Time Line heading in the app. I've come across interesting discussions about a variety of obesity, health, & nutrition topics.

Another Peanut Butter option is PB2. Goes great in smoothies. There's tons of recipes on pinterest

Is PB2 good? I asked my nutritionist if I could have peanut butter (which I absolutely love peanut butter), and she told me yes but to try PB2 first. I was a little hesitant because it's powder.< /p>

@ANewMe83. Yes PB2 is very good. You can mix in with shakes too. They also offer chocolate PB2 if you like chocolate and Peanut Butter yum!!!! :P

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! I totally forgot I wrote an update here... I'm one week post op today. I gained 15 lbs in water weight overnight because they had to give me tons of fluids to bring my BP up after surgery! I stayed one night in the hospital. Everything has been fine except I seem to have picked up a bug while I was there and I've been running a low grade fever, coughing, and a sore throat. So I've been hydrating well and sleeping a ton. So far the Covid tests are negative.
I haven't been able to advance my diet past purees. Everything I eat other than tofu makes me choke and feels like trying to swallow rocks. They warned me it would get worse before it gets better, so lets hope this is all normal. I have my follow up on Monday so we'll see. Living on shakes and soup again is not fun. I had enough of them the first time!! LOL

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
