  1. Yes! And it was horrific. My Dr prescribed a muscle relaxer to help with that pain. Apparently it's the muscles spamming at the suture sites.
  2. That's Awesome Karl! I am glad to hear your doing well.

  4. Saw my Dr. He confirmed its just muscle spasms. He said because I had such a weak core to begin with ( just a nice way of saying I was out of shape) my back is now compensating for the lack of stomach muscles. He prescribed Felxerall (sp) and told me to go get a massage.
  5. I am trying. I sip all day long, some days I only get 40oz in, which I know is not enough. I am trying to increase my water intake each day. The Dr wants to see my tomorrow morning just to make sure nothing else is going on.
  6. Thanks! Good to know. I'll give it a try

  8. Hey Guys! I am 3 weeks out today and for the most part have been doing well, however I have been experiencing sever back and side pain ( soreness) on my left side. It has mad sleeping almost impossible which is turning me into a mess. I mentioned it to my surgeon at my 2 week check up and he didn't seem concerned. He said it was my back muscles over compensating for my stomach muscles that had been weakened due to surgery. My question is, has anyone else experienced this? How long does this last? What can I do for the pain. Currently I have been using Tylenol, and alternating Heat and Ice.

  17. 7 days post op. Had my RNY 7/28/15. Nice to find a recent group of us ????
  18. My surgeon said that they needed to be removed because they would be putting a catheter in once I was under, he also said it was to keep The surgical room as contamination free as possible.

  20. Yeah! I know that now. I foolishly thought I would be one of the ones that just bounced back and hit the ground running. LOL My body has quickly corrected me.

  22. Thanks ya'll! Basically he told me I am trying to push myself and to take some more time to rest and heal. It has only been 6 days ????. I guess I thought would bounce right back. Lol
  23. So after a quick visit to the dr, he informed me that this is caused by muscle spasms. My body is trying to relax and the internal sutures and pulling. He prescribed a muscle relaxer to take at bed time and told me to be sure to stay on top of my pain medication.
  24. @FrankinTx I will be calling first thing this morning. It's another night where the God awful pain has occurred, except for this time I took just regular Tylenol because I am trying to back to work tomorrow, and can't be doped up . Unfortunately the regular Tylenol doesn't do much for this particular pain. It is honestly the worst pain I have ever felt. It leaves me shaking and nauseous. It feels like something is ripping in or around my belly button. Sitting upright does help it a bit. I am starting to become worried.
