My goodness I've been so out of it!!! I totally forgot to take pain meds AND the antacids they gave me! No wonder I feel like crap. Thanks for reminding me the obvious! My brain isn't working.

Oh no!! You poor thing! That explains why you feel so bad! I'm just getting to the point now where I don't really need the pain meds. In fact when I'm staying still or not sipping liquids I almost forget I've just had surgery.

I'll probably take em about twice a day until Friday just to be sure I don't hurt anymore than I have to.

But definitely don't skip ur antacid! The acid alone causes more pain than anything. I am feeling so much better since I took mine.

Hope you get some relief from your meds and get some good rest to heal.

Just had surgery 2 days ago... I feel so tired and pain especially in a sitting down position. Everytime I drink I feel the bubble. I especially hate the feeling when taking the medicine because I can feel it go all the way down and the feeling is indescribable in a weird way. I'm struggling to get enough fluids while sipping in between my naps because I'm always so tired. Somewhat hurts to breath I really feel it in my right rib while trying to breath in. I am hoping to gain some energy here soon

In just an hour's time I feel so much better! I needed the pain meds. I hadn't taken any at home so it had been 24 hours. I also took antacid. Now I'm sipping chicken Soup Unjury and a Jello. I feel human again in just an hour! Thanks people!

I have very similar issues. I totally know what you mean about feeling the meds go all the way down. And I am definitely having trouble with the bubble and sipping between naps but the antacid has helped a lot!

Maybe try a Gas-X strip if you have some for the rib pain. If you don't then try walking for at least 10 minutes and it should help (make sure someone walks with u). I got that pain while in the hospital and they said it's air that is leftover from the surgery and it will eventually pass. If the trouble breathing gets worse when you're walking or even lasts more than a few hours with no relief while resting be sure to call your doc. Heck- you should call anyway to ease your mind. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

I find if I stand up every time I swallow Water or anything it helps a lot with the bubble popping right away.

May try that. Cuz the bubble is driving me nuts. Lol

Have any of you noticed ur taste buds changed? I absolutely hate the flavors I loved before surgery. I'm kinda unsure of what to drink. I hate all the Popsicles, Jello and g2 I bought. :(

Even the flintstone Vitamins taste disgusting and I loved those as a kid.

I've been having my husband taste everything to see if it's just in my head or if there is something wrong with the drinks. Lol

He says it's gotta be that my taste buds changed cuz they taste the same as always to him. So...I guess they removed the part of my stomach that connected to my taste buds cuz nothing tastes really good anymore. :(

I'm praying that the laughing cow cheese and morning star veggie patties still taste awesome because I can't wait to make it to soft foods so I can have them.

Did everything go ok with your surgery? How are you doing now?

What are you guys eating? All I have done so far is G2 and a few bites of yogurt today. The nausea was bad until about now. I think I'll have to try and eat something now since I'm at home. Maybe some Greek yogurt.

I'm stuck on clear liquids until Saturday. Water, broth and G2

My little sis surprised me with wonton Soup (strained completely only clear broth) and egg drop soup...tho I think the egg drop soup will have to wait until the soft food stage. I made my hubby eat it so I wouldn't be tempted. Looked way to thick to be considered a clear liquid.< /p>

@@Ktprimo omg I'm having the exact same feeling. Every time I drink something I get a weird sharp sensation in my stomach and then air bubbles that come up. ???? I'm only 4 days out but I'm hoping this will go away soon.

I took the antacid they gave me about 15 minutes ago. I'm hoping it helps. My intestines are finally working normally as of this morning. Afraid maybe it has something to do with the fact that I woke up lying on my stomach. I suppose the pain meds they gave me really work because I have no clue how I ended up sleeping on my stomach and not in severe pain. Lol

I feel much better today. Still a little groggy and struggling to get in enough liquid since I hate the bubble sensation but I am totally enjoying this constant full feeling and having no real interest in food. So far I love my sleeve. :)

@@ashley126 - I wanted to let u know I drank some warm wonton Soup and it didn't cause the heartburn (or bubbles and lump in my throat) as much as the cold fluids do. I've realized that everything cold except for Popsicles and ice cause horrific bubbles and pain. I'm guessing the key for me is warm liquid. Thought you might like to know to try it and see if there's a difference for you too. Never thought I'd drink warm Water or anything without ice and enjoy it but now that's all I can handle. Hope it helps.

I did drink some broth earlier and it settled in my stomach better than some other things. Like Popsicles and jello...oh man...they don't agree with me right now. It sucks, I still feel bloated and have gas pains from time to time. I'm walking around my house as I write this. Lol. It's actually helping some. I just keep telling myself I've only been post op for 4 days and I need to give my body time to catch up. I hope everything gets better for you. I know how the struggles are right now.

So glad to hear you're doing better even tho it's not perfect yet.

Feels so comforting to know I've got all of you here to understand my ups and downs.

Still not regretting my decision at all. The future outcome will be so worth the little present pains.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
