I'm traveling out of town the day after Xmas for work so I bought protein powder to pack and take with me. Having surgery the morning after I return!

I'm seeing Dr. Garth Davis at The Davis Clinic in Houston, TX

My surgery is at Memorial Hermann

Yes the pre op is getting easier each day. Dr told me I could have a slice of turkey or something very little along in protein form to chew. Had a Christmas party at work today and I had a VERY small slice of turkey. I FEEL AWFUL! I guess my system has adjusted to liquids so I'm just not even gonna try anymore. I'm good! Praying for everyone.

December 30th here!

My surgery is on 12/29 also and am excited and nervous. Yesterday was first day of 10-day pre-op diet of Protein shakes (using Mercola's Miracle whey - taste is yucky, but no artificial sweeteners). Feeling hungry and tired, but can't sleep, hence this 2 am post. Pre-op diet requires getting in at least 80 grams of protein daily, but cannot exceed 870 calories a day. Like some of the others who have posted here, my surgery location is 3 hours from home, so have been coming to this site for information and experiences. It has been so helpful to read the posts on here.

My surgery is December 29th. I only have a 5 day pre op diet because I've lost almost 20 pounds during the last 6 months working with the dietician.

My surgery is December 29th as well! I am doing 4 shakes a day, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles and broth. I am so torn though about Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas Day. I would really like to eat that day. I have wondered if I am perfect the rest of the time if I could cheat and then just be perfect the rest of the time??!!! I am close to 300 lbs so not sure if that would make a difference.

@@Adriane5Sims That sounds exactly like my diet..my surgeon requires all patients to do this for the 2 weeks prior to surgery in order to shrink the stomach and the liver to make surgery easier. I would think eating anything at all that close to surgery (Christmas/Eve) would defeat the purpose and undo all the shrinking we've been doing. I seriously considered scheduling mine 2 weeks later for that reason, but I have been waiting so long, I didn't want to wait 2 more weeks LOL!

I asked my sis-in-law to host Christmas dinner so I won't have to smell everything cooking or have a bunch of food in my house. It will be hard but so worth it to have the surgery go as smoothly as possible.

We can do this!!!
