  1. Hello! How are you @@Big_Mama? I have only lost 12 lbs. since my last report in mid April! What a wake-up call!! I knew I hadn't been eating right, but WOW!! I am thankful to have continued to lose while eating crap, but I know I could have lost at least twice that if I'd eaten the right foods and exercised. I've been craving salad lately, and I've been wanting Water more and more, so hopefully those two things will help instead of my "one piece of chocolate won't hurt" LOL It is already too hot in southeast Texas to go walking outside, so I will be getting back to my stationary bike. I've been using 3-lb hand weights to try to build some muscle in my saggy arms. They're hideous I got my hair cut short again to try to hide the hair loss. It is nice to have it short for the summer!
  2. Congrats on your success so far!! I don't usually get in enough water either I haven't been keeping my food diary, but I think I am doing okay on protein...I drink a 30g protein shake for breakfast every day. I need to start logging everything again. It really helps!

  4. Hi everybody! I uninstalled the app and haven't been online in ages. How are y'all doing? @@GreenEyes604 I would like to hear more about the cruise and the Facebook group. I had my surgery out of town and haven't been able to attend an in-person support group, so I would love to find one on Facebook! I have lost 47 lbs since surgery 12/29/14 and had lost 14 preop, so I am down 61 lbs since my highest weight. I feel so much better already, but I still have a long way to go! I do not exercise regularly, and I know I need to. I am already losing hair too - is anyone else? I thought I had a couple more months before that would start. I'm taking loads of Biotin. I'm glad it's baseball season, so I can wear a cap if it starts looking too bad LOL! I hope everyone is doing well, and I would love to hear some updates from y'all!!
  5. Dr. Garth Davis did my VSG December 29, 2014, and I love him! I had mine at Memorial Hermann right by his office, and they were great too. I started the process in July and was approved in early December - his staff takes care of arranging everything you need to get approved. They did not always keep me in the loop, so I was left wondering what was going on sometimes, but they really were on top of it.
  6. Mine was a few days early, right after my surgery.
  7. @@Mavic and @@Sherry I've been drinking regular coffee since I came home 12/31 ????
  8. Hi Jessica! I am in Port Arthur, and I had VSG 12/29/14. I would love to meet up with some fellow sleevers! @@joatsaint lives in Southeast Texas too!
  9. I was a stomach sleeper until this surgery (12/29/14). I did sleep in a recliner the first 3 nights, but as soon as I got in my bed, I was able to lay on my side. My long pillow has definitely helped!
  10. I've been on purees since Tuesday afternoon and get to start soft food next Tuesday. I still mostly just eat soup/broth because most things aren't appealing pureed. I pureed some steamed broccoli stalks with vegetable broth last night for something different and have had some hummus. Yum!
  11. As of Tuesday @ my post op appt, I was down 11 lbs since surgery, plus the 14 lbs I lost on the 2-week liquid diet, for a total of 25 lbs lost ????
  12. @@cutee1985 what kind do you drink? I was using Bariatric Advantage for preop and liked them but now I can't stand them! I got some Isopure drinks today to try, and someone had suggested GNC protein shakes (thank you to whoever that was!) I just drank 1/2 of a chocolate peanut butter one. It wasn't bad. I haven't been able to drink a whole one yet and not enough water but getting better. Follow up tomorrow and hopefully get to start purees. Yippee!
  13. Oh @@jnfisher I hope you get better soon!
  14. @@jnfisher I'm weak and uncomfortable as well. My surgeon said to call if I had vomiting. I only did once after I got home, so I didn't have to call him. I hope it gets better for you soon.
  15. I'm sorry you're having a hard time. I have started having that pain at the top of my abdomen and didn't realize it was gas. My nausea has finally subsided, thank God! I was pretty miserable the first couple of days, but it gets a little better each day. I am so thankful to be in touch with others going through this journey.
  16. Hey! I will look for you on my walks It IS hard, but we're almost there! Good luck!!!
  17. I'm not sure about Gatorade. The diet guidelines from my dr listed "sugar free sports drinks", but generally speaking, Gatorade is acceptable on a clear liquid diet. I personally haven't had any just because of that "sugar free" business on my paperwork. Mine requires 4-5 protein shakes + clear liquids for 2 weeks (I would've loved some lean protein and greens!!!), and I've lost about 13 lbs! That alone is pretty exciting LOL! Good luck with your trip and your surgery @@hdd55146!!
  18. Oh no! I'm so sorry @@Sbagdan That really sucks!!!
  19. Haha I am right behind you!! Just finished my list of things to pack. Good luck!!! Glad you get to go in the morning!
  20. I use Baritastic. It let me set goals for carbs, protein, etc. and shows a handy summary so I know how close I am to my goal. I like it!
  21. Y'all sure are quiet!! I am so excited I can't shut up LOL! Clear liquids only tomorrow, then nothing after midnight... I don't even have to be there until 1 pm Monday, so I'm gonna be cranky and hungry all day Surgery is supposed to be at 3 pm. I would've liked it to be earlier, but I will take it!
