November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!

Hi.

I'm Deb from N. Carolina. I started this whole process back in August after a visit to my regular doctor. After way too many years of yo-yo dieting and never getting the job done, it's all caught up to me. Now I'm heavier than I've ever been, my BP is on the rise and so is my cholesterol. My arthritis is terrible in my knees and ankles. I retired a couple years ago and I hate it because I can't do any of the things my husband and I talked about doing at this time in our lives. It's time to move forward.....

My surgery is scheduled for Nov.11th. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I'm hoping that others that are getting ready to have their surgery in November might be interested in connecting to create a support group. Let's make this journey together and be there to support one another no matter where we live or what our ages may be.

I've been looking at many of the other discussions and some are great, but I have a hard time keeping up with all of them in different places. I'm wondering if a group like this would make it easier to keep tract of whatever we want to talk about.

What do you think????

I look forward to hearing from folks.

Deb

So many people have there's in November. It will be such a great support network. I'm getting a little nervous this morning as I get ready.

I have to juggle dropping my boys off at school then driving an hour and half for check in. I hope I get everything packed. Two nights in the hospital. I was really hoping for one. But that's how it goes.

Where I had on my clear liquid diet was sugar free jello, Powerade zero, chicken broth, decaffeinated tea and of course water. Hope this helps good luck to you on the 6.

Hello everyone surgery went great just in a little pain up walking and walking it does actually help so again it means a lot that I have you all in my corner

Good Morning Lashante, now that's what I'm talking about! I was just praying for you and everyone else who is having surgery this morning and this week. So reading your update is a great encouragement for today. I check in at 10:15am later this morning, and I will provide an update as soon as possible to encourage the rest of my November buddies. Have a blessed day Lashante!!

Good luck to you both. I'm right behind you! Tomorrow is my rebirthday or surgery day and I hope to be as spry as you lashante. Thinking of you all.. Keep us posted mic.

Just saw my surgeon for the last time until my surgery on the 18th. She gave me the pre-op diet sheet which includes more food than I thought there would be. Unlimited raw vegetables (certain ones), dill pickles on top of the liquids. I couldn't believe how much was on the list that I could have. This is going to be much easier than I thought. No full liquid diet until after surgery.

November 21st is my day!! I am so excited!!! I have already started my pre-opt diet to give me a few extra lbs to shed.

Ok I'm finally awake enough to post. Surgery went well. Just took forever to get to surgery. Blood pressure was a problem so they pumped me with pills. Pain is tolerable. Not sure if it's because of pain pills or not though. Hardest part is I have not drank anything in over 24 hrs.

Congrats on your successful surgery! I'm starting to get terrified again! Mine's Thursday. ????

Congratulations to all of you who have already had your surgery this month! Here it is only the 4th and several of you have already blazed the trail for the rest of us. Hope all is going well for you. I'd love to hear how you are going and also if you have any advice for the rest of us.

I had my final preop appt today and I would be lying if I said I wasn't scared! My husband went too which was nice because now he also knows a little more what to expect and how to support me. My doctor is incredibly sweet though and didn't make me feel stupid at all for asking questions. I guess I am as prepared as I can get, now I just need to distract myself for the next 5 days so the time goes by quickly and I don't have too much more time to think about things.

I'm on the other side today. Surgery went well. I am here for 1 night. Just got up to walk. Left shoulder pain tolerable...so far
