  9. I'm scheduled for the 25th as well!! I'm in Ohio. You'll have to keep me posted. Which are you having? I'm having RNY.
  10. No diet for me either. 14 days to surgery... And counting!!!
  11. No liquid diet for me. Thank goodness! I can't wait!

  15. For those coworkers that I don't want them to know all the details, I tell them I'm having bowel surgery. They all know I have IBS so it fits. Plus, it's not an actual lie!
  16. Pulmonary nurse here. Taking 2 weeks off then going back to just desk work for 2 weeks. Fingers crossed!

  18. As a nurse myself I can tell you it is from ketosis. It is a metabolic state where most of the body's energy supply comes from ketone bodies in the blood, in contrast to a state of glycolysis where blood glucose provides most of the energy. This is from what we eat. Without the carbs, we don't get the simple sugars to break down like we used to. It does subside but for some, it will linger. Keeping hydrated helps flush the body.
  19. I can't wait to go scrub shopping once my weight is gone. Confession. ..I already bought a really cute top from the thrift store for 2 bucks! It's a large and I'm currently in a 3xl top. My surgery is on the 25th!
  20. I just checked out the page. I love them! I think I'll be ordering more than one bracelet to go with the alert plate! Which one did you get if I may ask?
  21. Mine is the day after. It's been such a long journey for me that it doesn't seem like it's really only 22 days away! Woo-hoo! We've got this!
  22. Got my date! November 25th! Woo-hoo! EGD on the 20th first though. Can't wait to join the losers bench.
  23. Being nervous is ok. If you weren't the slightest bit nervous, I'd be worried about ya! This is a huge decision and will make the rest of your life healthier and physically easier to live. I don't know about you but I have such difficulty doing some of the most basic things. The thought of no more insulin or pills, and never having to find the largest chair in the room is absolutely worth it. Good luck to you! You can do it!

  25. I just got my date! After my EGD on the 20th, I'll join the losers bench on the 25th! (It's also my son's 17th birthday.) Best part....NO LIQUID DIET! Thank the heavens! I can't wait to see the results. I am ready!
