HOW MUCH HAVE YOU ALL LOST IN THE FIRST MONTH

Recommended Posts

Just wondering what everyone lost in their first month? I stalled at my 2 week mark until this week. I have lost about 25 lbs, and I have been pretty bummed out. Just wondering what everyone else has gone through, and if this is normal??

Thank you!!!

I had my surgery four weeks ago tomorrow and have been stalled for two and a half weeks. It's driving me absolutely crazy. TOM started yesterday, so I blame that for the last few days, but it's still been a very frustrating stall. I didn't have my anatomy rearranged to not lose weight on 400-600 calories a day, right? :) I've lost about 26 pounds, which I am happy about, but I'd like the scale to start moving again soon! I track everything, so I'm trying to be extra diligent about Water and Protein. If nothing else, the stall has made me really concentrate on these, so that's good at least. Hang in there!

Thats exactly how I feel nonsenseprecious!! I was so bummed out. :( They said at my two week that I was fine. Lost 30 since starting the nurse visits, 20 lbs since surgery. Since then I have only lost the 5-7 lbs. I stalled for a long time. (felt much longer) I know my clothes are fitting me differently, but still like you said, or as I say.... "I had major elective surgery to lose weight! WTF??" I am just seeing if I am normal for being exactly 1 month today and if I am on track again to losing more. This whole journey has been a bit surreal. We totally got this!!! :)

I am 5 weeks post op tomorrow and my scale finally started moving this last Thursday after a 2 1/2 week stall! even though I understood the whole physiology of the stall it still totally sucked to have the scale not even move an ounce!! I did a little happy dance this Thursday when I was down and it has continued to move everday. so hopefully your stall will be over in the next week also :)

I didn't weigh very regularly that soon after surgery. That way I never knew if I was stalled or not. The only weight marks I remember that soon out was up 5 pounds 1 week after surgery and down 17 pounds at 7 weeks out.

As you can see by my ticker, your rate of loss (especially so soon postop) has nothing to do with your overall success. Stay off the scale, quit bumming and start enjoying this wonderful new life.

I'm five weeks out as well, as of today. I've lost 20 pounds so far. The doctor would like me to be down another 10-15 pounds by my eight week visit.

Stalls suck!

You know, the one bright spot--at least for me--of a stall is that it has shown me how freaking complicated weight loss is. :)

16 pounds in first month. I'm 6 weeks today and down 18. Lost 4 inches off my waist- that means as much to me as the overall pounds.

4 weeks and 2 days out and lost 15 lbs post surgery. The rest that shows on my ticker includes my 2-week pre-op diet, which, at this point, was faster weight loss  However, despite the scale, I am down 2 pants sizes, 1 blouse size and am starting to feel great - disproportionally to what the scale says. I've lost much more than this in the past and haven't felt this good. We all know about head hunger - I think I'm going through "head weight loss" (feeling better and smaller than the scale shows!)

In the first month I lost 20.68 lbs.

Second month only lost 7.7 lbs

September will be my third month and so far I've lost 4.18 lbs.

Lost total 32.56 lbs.

I also lost 17.6 lbs during pre-op so now I'm good lol.

Now I don't really care much about weight loss because I know I'm losing.

I more concentrate on staying in the routine, Water intake, balance meals, exercises, moisturising, sleeping hours.

If I can lose only 7-8 lbs per month, I'm ok with it.

But my doctor expected me to lose 10-15 lbs though, well, I think he knows best that it's different for everyone.

I'll be five weeks out on Wednesday. I've lost a total of 27 pounds (which includes 4 pounds I lost the week before surgey). I haven't had any stalls (for more than a few days), but can't wait for week six so I can TRULY start working out--just been walking so far. I know with strength training will come muscle and more weight loss, but the inches are still coming off. I'm down 2 sizes already. Woooo-hoooo!

Well, I'll start by saying that everyone is different. That said, I'm exactly 4 weeks out today and down 42 pounds from my surgery weight.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
