Confused and disappointed

Recommended Posts

So I went for a fill today and she only gave me .2 cc, so I am currently at 5.1 cc. I was really hoping to get at least .5 cc, but she refused. Said that she is afraid to over fill me. She wants me to cut out carbs completely and increase Protein intake. I'm just so frustrated. I managed to go down to 153 from 288. Now I am back at 218. I want to lose the weight I gained because being sick and being given steroids in high dosage twice.

She must have a reason for the small fill? Stuck episodes? Sliming? Past history of reflux?

Are you consuming a lot of carbs and what kind? What does a typical days meal look like?

I totally understand how you feel. Trust your team they know what they're doing. I had to cut carbs out too for the first two years. You can do it. Best wishes

I am going to admit that I do eat a lot of carbs and sugars. Because of the fill I am on liquids then soft. I think I may have to take it back to post surgery days. Start from zero.

Prior to the this current fill I was having coffee and muffin or bagel for Breakfast. Rice, Protein and veggie for lunch....for dinner I would just have whatever.

My surgeon is of the small frequent fills school -- maybe she will see you every other week for a while to get you up to the green zone. I can't eat rice and choose not to eat bread or Pasta, though I have a bite of gluten-free versions once in a while. And I don't eat in the mornings as I'm just not hungry plus I feel tighter then. It's such a process, isn't it, figuring out our individual modes? Many people "reset" with the five day pouch test, a way of getting back to basics. Good luck -- you're on the right track! And steroids, what a nightmare. Tats how I got fat, too, many years ago. Until the band I couldn't budge it no matter what I did. I wonder if your surgeon is concerned about you getting too tight too fast because of the steroids. Just A random thought.....best wishes to you!

I'm going to try to do better because right now I just feel disappointed and I am so afraid to go back to the weight I was.

@@Jerseydiva15 don't be disappointed. Take this as a learning lesson and take it back to band basics. Remember how excited you were with the idea of surgery looming ahead and a huge change to your life? Try to remember how it felt to be that 288 pound lady that was just starting her journey.

Give yourself a mental reset and a band reset. Take it back to basics. Your starting out right on the liquids, then go to mushy and then soft and then solids. Work on your eating mechanics and your choices. Take some time to plan what you are going to have before you decide, but don't wait till your starving or super hungry to think about it because that's how you end up with what ever.

Think about the day ahead, the same way you do in the morning when you choose your outfit for the day. Sometimes your comfy and sometimes you wish you had worn your favorite jeans and comfy sweater or wish you could have stayed in your PJ's all day and you know what...when you get back home you can do those things. So if you have a mishap in a choice remember you can always make a change and do it right! Don't wait for tomorrow or Sunday or Monday take back control with your very next meal and your very next choice.

You got this!

Thank you so much everyone. I survived day one of liquids. Now on day 2. Trying to remember what are some mushy foods I can eat.

Also trying to think of simple no crab meals.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
