JULY 2014 SLEEVERS GROUP

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 7/23!! Doing very well, getting in my fluids and my Protein ok for now!! I do have a question, I'm having a hard time telling when I'm full, and feel sometimes one more bite makes me feel STUFFED is this normal?

At the beginning I also had a hard time to tell but eating slowly helps, wait until the food passes and when you feel like you cannot take any more, that is full.

I learned my lesson lol yesterday I got carried away, eating scrambled egg to fast and the food was like stuck there for a while. Believe me, you don't want that to happen.

It's normal and will feel different once you start eating. The first time you over do it, you will learn your lesson real fast

Hi! I'm also 7/7 sleever! I think we lost pretty much on the same rate but remember that it's different for everyone. I've lost so far 19.58 lbs but it stopped today. I guess I hit the famous spot called 'stall' some of my friends even gained weight at some point but they lost more later anyway.

My 3 week stall came early. I lost 14 pounds the first week but only 3 pound since. I know I'm not moving enough but I still thought the weight would fall off at only about 500 calories a day... Hoping to get over the stall soon

July 21 for me. 305 at 4th of July and 265 on July 31. Extremely excited to start a new chapter of my life. I was told this morning that I have not snored in a week or so and I have no knee pain.

Looking forward to the puréed phase of my diet .

Hi y'all I was sleeved on the 14th and so far have lost 21 pounds. I also look at the scale and think ... shouldn't I have lost more today? but the reality is this kind of weightloss is dramatic and exactly what we were looking for when we decided on weight loss surgery.

REmember that normal rates of weightloss with dieting and exercise are 1-2 lbs loss per week.

I see us all on here 2-3 weeks post surgery stating weight loss in the 14-30 lb category and remarking that we'd like to have lost more by now. Dudes! We are rocking the weight loss! Be patient and stick with the liquids or soft foods wherever you are and the weight will *continue* to just fall off of us. This is good people!

Hi everyone I had surgery on July 14th and on my follow up appointment on July 28th I had a total lost of 18 lbs. I'm on soft purée food stage. Any interesting suggestions? Also I'm having a hard time taking 2 Protein Shakes a day.

I was sleeved July 21st. I'm down 13lbs since surgery and 43lbs all together. I'm having a hard time with eating the smallest thing fills me up for the day. I feel like I'm doing this all wrong I can't get in the Protein and I'm still having trouble walking. Anyone else having these problems?

Quick update....I was sleeved on 07/24. I've lost 12lbs since then and 28lbs since 07/11, which was when I went in for pre-op testing. I feel good just really tired all the time with little to almost no pain. I need to increase my Protein and my liquid Vitamin intake. I'm almost out of the 2 week post op diet so hopefully I'll increase my protein intake with foods in the puréed stage. tuna, shredded chicken, ground meats etc....I'll also switch to the gummy vitamins.

I'm in NYC and I had my surgery at NYU by Dr. Bradley Schwack.

Sleeved 7/28 and doing really well. Getting all of my fluids in, and trying to get my 60g of Protein in, but the protein is tough. I'm so sick of protein shakes!!! I've had some strained cream of mushroom Soup with unflavored Protein Powder, but even that is getting old. Still 10 days until I can advance to puréed! I've been taking walks outside, and resting well. Hope everyone is doing great too!!!

Hey everyone! I am new to the site and new to the Sleeve. I had my surgery on 7/30 and it is now 8/1 so I am 2 days out. I have a few questions. did anyone gain weight after the surgery? I started my 2 week liquid diet at 421. the day of surgery I was 399 now 2 days out and I have put a few lbs back on. it makes no sense to me. the only thing I have had to eat was 1 egg and 2 oz of chicken puree. is this normal? I have been drinking my Water like I am supposed to, today I had about 56oz of the required 64oz.

did anyone else experience this as well?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
