100% normal... It'll take you a few days Till you drink normally..

It took me 3 days, then in day 8 it started being slightly painful and im on day 9 now. Seeing my dr. After the weekend to and i think everything is fine. Lost 13 lbs and im happy..

Good luck with your journey and you just focus on your goal...

June 17th,yesterday, was my surgery. Feeling a bit nervousness about how this recovery is going. Can't seem to drink much, head games with myself hoping I won't have regrets. Maybe just some post op blues but hoping to find some encouragement. I know it's early. I'm perhaps a worry wart. I know I was prepared. It's done now, this is the hard work, pain, frustration beginnings? How is everyone else doing. I hear it gets better.

100% normal.... I went through the same phase..

You wont be able to drink and a lot of pain.

Pain will fade and you will start drinking normal in a couple more days.

I wont lie to you there are time when you get some cravings, but i simply look at my progress chart when this happens and this does the trick.

8 days post op today and i am down 14 lbs since surgery day.. I look different man...

Its a matter of time when you will LOVE the new you.

My surgery was June 16th. I was just discharged from hospital today on Phase II Diet. Problem is I sleep on my stomach & I'm having a hard time trying to get some sleep. Anybody else like that?

Just move forward. I was so scared sitting in my hospital bed waiting for them to take me back. Try to relax. Keep the image of yourself at your goal weight in mind.

The recovery is really not too bad. Daily it gets easier. You will be able to eat all foods again, just in phases over time. Once you get out of surgery and on the mend, life will be more normal than you are thinking it will be.

Keep us updated. Good Luck!

I had surgery the 16th of June. It was very painful until this morning. Still having a issue with getting all my fluids in but I have no desire to eat. Plus any type of liquids (warm or cold) still hurt going down. Anyone else have this issue.

Hang in there. I'm just 9 days post op and feel mostly normal. Each day it gets better. If you sip all day you should be able to get your Water and Protein in around day 4 or 5 post op. That's also when the gas pains each time you swallow start to ease up (at least for me). I still have gas that gets caught in my chest if I drink a too-large gulp at a time and that hurts for a few seconds.

Follow the directions from your doctor. Clear Liquids - liquids - mushy Proteins.< /p>

Had surgery June 3rd. I'm still having problems with Fluid intake and getting my Protein in. Doing my best every day. Still tired. But working through it. My doctor and dietician say I'm doing pretty well although they think I might be dehydrated. Forcing a liquid is not easy. But I'm trying to sip during the day best I can. Good luck to everyone!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
