Frustrated!!!!!!!!! I called my doc office since it was so soon after my fill and I can't tell a difference. They said I will have to pay another $85 to go in and get more. So irritating. The PA normally gives me .2 cc's each time, he vae me .1. It also took the doctor 5x to get the needle in my port, the P.A. hits it the first time??

makes you wonder if they hit the port? Sometimes it takes a few days for it to 'take effect' or so I've heard from other people. It hardly seems worth $85. for .1 fill. I'd be ticked!

I'm pretty sure he hit it, I felt hit (you now that weird sensation when they pull the needle out). They always withdraw all the Fluid out to make sure you didn't lose any fluid. Then put that back in plus some. I will have to wait two more months to get more. Of course again, if I only ate what I was suppose to, this would not be a big deal.....

Don't you wish Docs would spend a little more time listening to us, don't we know our bodies the best. I'd be frustrated too!

A little just in time NSV...I was feeling a little down today. We were out of town this weekend and I ate pretty poorly (late night pizza & Cookies etc...) The scale showed it this AM, my own fault, but still frustrating how hard we have to work for every pound now. Well, I'm at work, feeling bloated, and the mailman comes in and says "if you loose one more pound you'll blow away". No one around here has said one word about my weightloss (100#"s!). I work with all guys, and I think they are just scared to say anything about a girls weight (I guess that might be wise), how can you not notice!?! Anyway, Willie noticed...he's so sweet, I look forward to our 15 second converations!

Twinmommy-

I'd be upset too...and $85 for .1cc?? It hardly seems worth it. The least my Dr has given me at once was .25 ....

What size band do you have...and how much do you have in it?

Before you think about wasting your money on another fill - let me tell you about MY last fill experience. I had a fill (.2 cc) 5 weeks ago. After the fill I could Eat MORE than before the fill. I was frantic and called the doc and he said come back in next week (after my insurance expired). I said forget it I will wait and the restriction finally came - 4 weeks later!!!!!! No one at the DR office can explain why and I have experienced a delayed fill of 2 weeks, but 4 WEEKS NEVER!!! So be patient. :)

Sandra,

My husband and I are planning to have a baby... I actually thought it was gonna happen sooner than what we planned... TOM was 2 days late this month!!! Normally I'm like clockwork... so I took a test, negative... then TOM came the next afternoon... We were both a bit dissapointed.... it would have been a nice surprise.

Oh WOW! congrats, that's a big decision to come by....I still hope for one more, but not sure it is in our future as baby number 2 has not come yet and we've been trying for 3 years...I wish you luck!:):)

On a non-scale victory (?) front, the cop writing me a ticket today mentioned that I need to get a new license picture, and that I must have dropped a lot of weight....

I'm up to 179, but I'm not changing that ticker yet :)

Manatee-Way to see the BRIGHT side of getting a ticket there my friend! LOL:thumbup:

I have 2.4 in a 4cc band. I am so ticked.....I do feel like I can eat more than before I went.

wow! I'd be ticked too! I currently have 3cc in a 4cc band. Anytime I fall below 3cc it feels as if I have no fill at all!!

Hang in there.. Maybe you'll have a delayed reaction.

So, I have been officially denied any payment for treatment of the slip because I am not morbidly obese.

I am beyond pissed at this point.

THAT SUCKS! I hope you'll appeal? That seems like a slap in the face, due to the fact that you've been successful you're being penalized for that? Makes no sense, but insurance companies can be difficult...i'm so sorry.:blushing:

Manatee - I can't believe it! how can they be so stupid! What are you supposed to wait till you gain the wght back before they let you have it done again. Are you going to write them along letter and tell them about it! I am so mad for you. Steaming.

That makes no sense at all. Wouldn't it be considered a complication of the original band surgery, not a new surgery to treat obesity? Maybe your doc could label it in a way that the insurance would pay for it. Sometimes it's all in how it's billed out. How crazy is it anyway that the insurance company gets to decide on our medical treatment. It will only get worse with socialized medicine!!!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
