My surgery is scheduled for March 26. I started my preop diet today. 1000 calories 75 grams of Protein and 64oz of Water. So far so good. I'm super excited and nervous. I am ready to get this journey started. I haven’t told many people about the surgery. Just a few family members and my supervisors. They all have been very supportive throughout this process.

I have FEP BCBS and they approved me in 48 hours.

I too have BCBS Federal. What all did you have to submit to them to get approved? I am going through the process. Seeing my doctors and having tests. Just curious what you had to go though. And by the way, Congrats!

I have FEP Blue Basic and they required:

2 years weight history

3 month medically supervised diet

Psych clearance

Evidence of weight loss in the 1 year period

Member has not smoked in the 6 months prior to surgery

Member has not been treated for substance abuse for 1 year prior to surgery

I got this information off of their website. I just Googled FEP Blue WLS requirements.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
