Does your spouse know how much you weigh?

Recommended Posts

Just wondering how open everyone is about how much they weigh to their spouse? I've never told my husband how much I weigh but I know how much he weighs because he is open about it and really just doesn't care, but he also doesn't have a weight issue either, like I do.

Yes I tell my significant other how much I weigh... it took me awhile but I eventually did

Not long before my surgery, my husband estimated I weighed what his mom weighs. I guess I have never told him my original weight, just my BMI. And he gets every little update on every pound I lose, but I never say what I weigh now either.

Good question!

I have to laugh because I never told my husband how much I weighed, but when I went to my post-op visit with my surgeon, he did see the scale so now knows what I weigh. At this point, it doesn't much matter. When I get to my goal, I will be happy to share that good news with him.

My man and I are having a little contest. When my weight finally dips below his weight (which is healthy for his height and age), then we will have a non-food celebration of some sort. The good news is, I am within a pound or two of that point on the scale!

Nope. And even after surgery I don't intend to volunteer that information.

After I had lost quite a bit I shared with him. But I waited until I had lost a bit, so I could say I used to weigh that, now I weigh this.

I've always said what a big deal it will be for me to weigh less than him (he has always been fit, trim, and athletic). We recently had a funny conversation -- he said right after my surgery when I had commented that eventually I will weigh less than him, he just couldn't imagine it, but now he sees that it's going to happen.

I currently weigh about 18 lbs more than him. He would like to add lbs to his own frame by lifting weights. I said we can wave as we pass each other -- me on the way down & him on the way up. Then I said, when we get to a point where we weigh exactly the same, we should see if we can pick each other up! Then we collapsed giggling because he added that we should try to see how far we can throw each other LOL

No! He thinks I weigh 60lbs less than what I am! I told him I'd tell him my starting weight as soon as I get to my goal!

I told my husband my high weight - I've been hiding the number from him for 17 years. I was silently embarrassed that he and I have weighed the same for the past 10 years.

He had no clue I got to 256 pounds - he was so shocked at that. I cried when I told him. He understood at that point that I had to go thru this surgery for my health. It wasn't about wanting to be skinny - he knew I was in danger.

I now share my weight with him every week (even during this fu*&ing stall!!!!!!!).

Wow I'm so surprised. My husband weighs 125lbs and I was 310 at my heaviest. I never felt ashamed. When we were dating I was probably in the mid to hight 200's so I knew he loved me no matter what. Since the surgery he is very interested in how my body is changing but in a loving way. I think he is kinda worried on how it will be once I reach my goal but he won't say anything because he knows how important this is to me and he is fully supportive.

When I started looking into surgery my husband was against it. When I told him how much I weighed, he changed his way of thinking and knew that I was serious about this weight loss. He then jumped on board and supports me at each and every pound. We've been married for 35 years. We met when I was a petite 21 year old and has seen me gain every pound. So why shouldn't I share the weight and the weight loss with him? After being married this long there isn't that much he doesn't know about me.

He always guessed and was always significantly lower (nice guy). He found out during my consultation. Now since I have plan to get rid of the weight, it doesn't bother me to share progress

I can't wait till I weigh less than my husband but I'm about 60 pounds away from and even when I do weigh less than him my BMI will still be higher than his but that's because I'm short.

I met my husband 15 years ago when I was 15 years old, back then I only weighed 115 lbs. I guess you can say I got a little too comfortable, plus I had a medical condition go undiagnosed for a decade that is known to cause weight gain.

So that is why I never told him my weight. He clearly knows I've gained a ton but he has no idea how much exactly. Fortunately he has always stood by my side but I always felt like crap when he introduced me to one of his work buddies. I would wonder what they were thinking, like wtf is he doing with her. When clearly he can be with someone more attractive. :(

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
