Hey there, you are banded! Congratulations. Sorry about the gas pain -- some people get relief from a heating pad. Great that you're walking all you can. Tomorrow will be a new day!

Thanks Love. Will continue the walking, and pray for relief.

I had pains from the gas for almost two weeks. Two of those days were almost unbearable. Sometimes I think it just has to work itself out. Best wishes darlin!

I am 4 weeks on Friday and for some reason having gas pains in upper left shoulder just as though I had surgery a few days ago. It happens, hang in there.

I used a heating pad on the area for the 1st week or so and it made things so much more comfortable. Hope that may help.

I, actually, had to take more pain meds when teh gas pains would not stop even with walking and gas-x. Best wishes, Karen

Laying on your left side with your knees bent and drawn up to your chest with a warm blanket between your knees will help move the gas. I always had my GI patients do that to dispel the gas after a colonoscopy and it never failed. Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Valerie KK, I actually was able to lie in recliner with my knees up. I was able to expel some gas. Never been so excited to pass gas!! Lol!

I'm glad your feeling better!! I'm thinking I may have to talk my doctor into seeing if he can go easy on the gas. Seems like the gas gets everyone. I can't be having all that at work. :)

Congrats on the band! I was banded in 2007 and on Feb. 14 had my slipped band put back in place. I remember now those pains up around my shoulder and neck area. It's weird. I'm doing fine but can't wait for it to all be gone.

I'm doing full liquids right now and not really hungry, thank God!

Good luck!

I was banded a few days ago so I'm experiencing the gas pains as well and they really are awful!! The heating pad has helped me like a few other posters mentioned. Moving is the other thing. I seriously have been setting alarms so I don't sit for more than 3 hours at a time. The more I sit, the more the gas sits in there and causes pain. Also, it sounds silly, but when I feel the trapped gas in my stomach, I have my mom pat my back and essentially "burp me" to get it to come up. I figured if it works for babies it might work for me and it did! Haha. So if you have anyone to pat your back for you, give it a try!

Have to agree on the left sided thing, that is the only thing that work and still works for me! This has been the gassiest journey ever for me, banded 2 months ago and still passing it. Like Leepers the first 2 weeks were rough! Good luck and welcome to band land!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
