Where is your port?

Recommended Posts

Just know you're in good hands. There may be an issue with the amount of belly fat we lose and having the port in the more traditional above belly button left side is no longer being practiced in some places. Good luck to you on your upcoming surgery -- very exciting!

This is just me.... But I don't think I could handle the port on my chest. I'm not to goal yet but my collarbones now stick out. I still have boobs but there is not other fat in that area. A port there would be extremely noticeable on me. Would make me never want to show any cleavage. Lol.

But like I said, that's just me and my two cents.

Hi. I see that your surgeon is Dr. Christopher Smith. He is also my surgeon. I was banded on 2/12. I also questioned the placement of the port in the chest. His reasoning made sense. He gave me the option to have it placed in the abdomen if I wanted but I told him to go ahead and put it in the chest. I will tell you that the port incision is the largest I have and the most sore, but it gets better every day. Do you live in Albany?

Congrats! I hope all is going well for you. No, I will be banded at his Tifton site. Did you get a low-profile port? How long did you take off from work? Can you see or feel the port? Sorry bout all the questions!!

De love, we are getting banded by the same doctor.. I am worried about this too... I just don't want it there... I am sorry, I think this will be painful and show...it was explained to me that it would be easier for fills...I like to wear strapless and I don't want my port to show when I reach my goal weight.. I want to have faith in my surgeon however I don't know about this choice...

Mine is below the bottom of my rib cage and above belly button on the right side. no scarring from fills, I get a little bruise and a polka dot for about a week.

Dr. Smith put mine in my chest too. I just got banded on Vday. I think I like my port in my chest.

You're welcome! The cut is right under my armpit and it's not sore at all. It stays out of the way. I don't have to worry about pants rubbing against it either.

I don't think it will at all. I think it will be easier to hide too. I did pretty good on the sugar busters diet. I stuck with it and stayed under 1200 calories. I lost 12 pounds during preop and I even had pizza and Taco Bell one time during the diet. He said my liver had no fat on it.

I had eggs and toast some days. At Walmart they have a 100% whole bread that is sugar free too. Natures own is the brand name. Sometimes I did old fashion oatmeal and cooked it in unsweetened vanilla almond milk. I would also sauté zucchini, tomatoes, and onions then pour scrambled eggs on top

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
