I am into my 4th month post lap band. I have been vet successful losing 60 pounds!! I live by my fitbit even get out of bed if it says I don't have enough steps.

But I haven't felt that in the last 2 days. I want to and need to stay motivated. I need to get back on it tomorrow. I feel like I could eat anything and probably would have but kept talking myself out of it but definitely ate more than normal.

Is this normal?????????????????

There are periods where we all temporarily lose focus....

Early in my postBand life, I was at a convention, and "Partied" in my room after a tiny BandSmart dinner.....

I was distracted and concentrating on business stuff, and knew I was eating in an unusual (by then) pattern.....

but I rolled over & went to sleep finally.

In the morning I awoke & looked about at the evidence of my "party" ......2 or 3 small bags of popcorn, and an empty 2 pack of grannies oatmeal Cookies....so much for "party".....

It solved a Big Issue, it gave me a bit of a re-boot on my own Band meal plan, and it showed that considerable IMPROVEMENT had been made towards a HEALTHIER 'party' despite unplanned food being included ....

I had to laugh, as it was considerably removed from what my preOp 'party food' would have been.

Cheers on your journey, just remember to keep moving in the right direction.

You have to force yourself to do things you don't want to do. Just do it you will be glad that you did.

Sounds to me like you are feeling deprived of your old life. Unfortunately, after living however many years doing what we did before, of course it's near impossible to just stop. My dietician reminds me constantly about "moderation". For me personally, if I REALLY want the junk or not to workout one day - OKAY. But just once - whether that's one meal or one serving or one skipped workout. know I will feel guilty immediately and that will be the end of it. As long as you give yourself permission, I think you will bounce back better than ever.

Lapband is the tool - not the cure. Just like all the diets we have ever been on, we have to find what works for us.

Is this normal?

remember what you felt like 60 pounds ago?

did you have to wear bigger clothes? did you feel horrible? horrible enough

to seek WLS for assistance? ..........losing 60 pounds is terrific.......and if you

want to continue to get well by losing weight (eating great foods, exercising and living),

you will keep on doing what you are doing.......because if you dont, you will slowly but surely start regaining what you lost......you have come too far to go backwards.....

did this help?

I'm still new but I remember being upset with losing 22lbs. in my first month. I got on here and complained... Guess what? CG kicked me in butt. She has a wonderful way of putting things into perspective.

I'm sure with 60lbs gone your needing some new clothes or if you'd rather treat yourself to something else that's cool too! I have lots of health problems but I'm planning on doing my first 5k Run or Dye on May 31st in my case it should be Run or Die...probably be a lot of walking. I have sciatica...but darn it I'm going to get my exercise in!

Ineed, you've got this! :):)

Sounds like the January blahs to me -- this can be a tough time. Holidays are behind us, light has not returned yet, less opportunities for enjoying the outdoors. Know that you are doing beautifully. In getting the band you chose a healthy new future for yourself. And you're not alone -- we are all in this together, pecking away at old habits and creating new ones. Best wishes to you!

I'm 20 days out of surgery. I've lost 21 lbs, but now I'm hungry and can eat anything. I'm trying very hard to stay on my mushies, but in the evening I feel like I'm starving...plus I have to cook for my family! I really want to make this work. October 9th can't get here soon enough...my first fill! Band hell sucks!!

Here it is in all its wondrous glory. Shut my trap right up! Thanks CG! :)

i dont think losing 21 pounds is at a stand still....i consider that as you being successful...weight loss wont happen overnight as the weight did not go on overnight....to lose weight with WLS is a ongoing formula..the key is to keep moving forward with the instructions gave to you by your doctor for best results....and if you do, you will continue to do as well as you are.

PS, if hungry, drink more and or eat more Protein when you are able to eat and def stay busy...you can do it..look at how great you have done.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
