I cab from the train station to the office and most of the regular cabbies know me pretty well. So yesterday I got into the cab and since I've been out a lot because of the hip replacement surgery, the driver hadn't seen me in a while. English is not his first language so I have to remember that he meant it as a compliment when he told me that I was skinny now and not big fat any more. What could I say except thank you... LOL.

Totally agree! One of my neighbors was telling a new neighbor about how much weight I had lost. The new neighbor wa congratulating me with out trying to sound rude, but it still came out much like that! NSV, great job! Karen..aka.kll724

It's such a tricky thing to compliment someone on their weight loss!! Anything along the lines of "you look so skinny now" always sounds like you're telling them you noticed they aren't fat anymore. I love that the language barrier made it that much more obvious haha!

That's awesome. I try to remind myself that if I wasn't fat I wouldn't have done this surgery. I think I liked to believe that people didn't see my fat before lol it's great that we can take compliments even if they aren't wrapped up all pretty. Great job on your journey!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
