October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

Lets stay in touch guys, if there is a forum for us already please point me to it, otherwise, I'll start:

Surgery date: 10/23/13

Highest weight: 283

Surgery weight: 277

Current weight: 271 (1week post op)

Pre op meds vs post op meds:

type 2 diabetes pre op-2 insulins 2 pills/

post op-1 pill only 1/2 the pre surgery dose- still on high cholesterol meds but I suspect that will change after my pcp follow up.

I am struggling to not get on the scale until my 2 wk post op, 3 days to go I'll keep you guys posted. Gas/constipation is my biggest complaint. Getting down all of my liquids and Protein is my biggest struggle. Staying positive is my biggest accomplishment....

VSG ON 3....1 2 3 VSG!!!! Let's get it!!!!

Sleeved on 10/30/13 with a weight of 272. I think I am doing ok, having a problem getting vitamins down, just doing my best. Im sick of the fluids already, but its all part of the journey. According to my scale I have lost 12 pounds. I was tired all the time, but yesterday I had trouble sleeping, thought that was odd. I think food commercials should be outlawed, or at least the pizza ones, lol. So good luck to everyone, keep in touch. :)

I so agree about the food commercials. Liquids here until Thanksgiving. I think I could single handedly start a Zombie Apocalypse. So over liquids but it is what it is.

Really I have no problem watching the food network or the cook channel. I started watching it more than I did pre op because I just wanted to cook healthier when the time comes for regular food & to resist temptation so far so good my first day from the hospital my cousins went to my fav fast food stop (burger king) & she ordered my usual down to a tee (whopper, onion rings & the zesty sauce) boy it smelt so good but honestly I wasn't even hungry I had my protein shake she went as far as telling me to check the bag to make sure the order right **that's where I draw the line** I toss that bag right to my other cousin in the back to check I feel what helped me best with my temptation is the will power to not fail myself & put my vsg (my tool) to its best use & to all my fav food which was fried food & carbs (bread, pasta & mashed potatoes) to just avoid but even when I encounter my fav foods is so easy to just say no I know eventually I be able to have food I once love just rarely & less of it

I'm 33 n 5'3ish

been having a hard time with liquid was supposed to start pureed yesterday but do to all the vomiting I came to the ER to get liquids to buy me some time...supposed to start soft foods next week hopefully im up for it...at least by thanksgiving im hoping to at least have some beans or something good...anyway I was tolerating things well until I guess I took too much of a swig of water and got myself into trouble...it is so hard to sip anything especially ice water...it is so good...but it has been hard missing out on margarita night and having wine ugh...but the weight loss I cant complain about...anyone else have trouble with foam and vomiting

Water is my only friend acid reflux makes me not want to drink any crystal light just makes it even worst I have sugar free popsicles I'm afraid to try laying in the right position crucial cause if I don't it's like the acid reflux crawling up my throat I can't even sleep in my 1/2 way fetal position that use to get me so comfortable any more cause any bending up my body while laying down shoots that acid reflux up my throat I'm so looking forward to my first post op visit so I can get something prescribe for this cause it causing a great deal of being uncomfortable & sometimes losing sleep the eating part not so bad because I don't have any appetite but I know I have to get my protein in

I totally know how u feel! I sleep siting up to help, and I'm getting discouraged, they told me to take maalox but even that only helps a little! I just hope it goes away, and it's not forever!

So far so good!

28 lbs in 3 weeks sounds great. But of course I can't really tell a difference yet. All my clothes are for lounging (I work from home), so they are just little droopier than normal. The biggest excitement is that I can wear some sports bras that I haven't been able to fit into for months and months. So, we know where that 28 lbs came from now don't we!

I'm wondering if that's normal during that time for us women. I would suggest weighing in like once a week taunting yourself daily or every few days can be discouraging...hopefully after your monthly visit you will bounce bk...pls update on that I'm a little curious...good luck

Okay. It seems like it happened to me right when the dreaded "3rd week stall" happens. So I'm not sure. But my weight has actually gone up another lb. It's crazy. I'm hardly eating anything. Weird. I'll def. keep you updated.

What vitamins are people taking... I saw someone mentioned biotin in a post to help prevent hair loss. I am currently taking a chewable adult multivitamin, calcium with vitamin D, and sublingual B12

I was warned by the nut to not eat too little as under eating can be just as bad as eating the wrong thing. But looking at posts from veterans there are stalls along the way

Sleeved 10/22/13 HW 320 SW 311 CW 289 Goal 185. Acid reflux is a huge issue the last few days. Hoping to find relief within these pages.
