Sleeve Of Steel?
I have not had many issues. I have vomited twice, when I ate too fast, and didn't chew well. Learning my sleeve has been a journey, but not a miserable one. I have of course eaten more than I should a few times and paid for it (indigestion and pain that lasted a few hours). I have since learned when to stop, break and see where I am in 10 or so minutes. Keep up the good work and be thankful that you are not suffering from issues many others have

Ok. In the first week wtf did i do to myself pity party...
I am on day 6. As others have said, I cry a lot. From pain, from frustration, from watching my family eat real food that doesn't make them cry out in pain after one babyspoon bite. I know it will get better and that I won't always spend every waking moment praying for death. Even taking pain medicine hurts. Today must be the dreaded gas in the shoulders day. It is kinda nice that something other than my tummy hurts......but I will be happy when nothing hurts. I haven't weighed in a few days. Last time I did I was down a total of 19 lbs. I was only 2 lbs away from the 200s for the first time in forever! Hang in there guys.....it can't get any worse!

did you have any complications and what were they?
Sleeved on 10/22. Failed first leak test....as in the dye never went into my tummy....just sat on top which was super painful. Rather than get an early start on fluids, I had to take an extra day to let the swelling go down. Finally allowed fluids today. Got 24 oz in for the day

Liquids seem to go down quick is this rught ?
The consequences for the caffine and liquor, other than the addiction factor, is an increase in the likelihood of getting an ulcer. Drinking after you eat will push the food through your sleeve faster, meaning you will be hungry again sonner...which leads to more calories and weight gain. Also depending on what you put in yr coffee, if anything, that and the liquor are just non-nutritional calories.

Today is the day!

sugar free yogurtor high protein sugar full greek yogurt?
My Nut said to have a 10:1 ratio for calories and protien. The Greek yogurts I choose have 140 calories (fat free) and 14 grams of protein. If there is fruit in it, you can blend it or just choose the kind without for on the go.

Getting Pretty Irritated With Myself
You did not mention what you are drinking, be aware of drinking calories as well. As you stated this is a tool, and any tool used improperly will not work as it is intended. Seek professional help for food addiction issues if that seems to be a problem. Best wishes. You can do this.

Check this out if you're new to the sleeve ans having regrets!
Thanks for sharing, I am 2 days from surgery and suddenly there is a bunch of posts talking about the misery and regret. Glad that there is light at the end of the tunnel even if it is a rough ride to get there!

Today starts my liquid diet
I am starting day 10 of my pre-op diet, granted it is not only liquid as I can have one lean and green meal a day, it is not easy. Stepping on the scale to see 16 pounds gone forever feels good though. I try very hard to see this as the beginning of steps to be healthier that are not easy. For me, the easy way got me to be where I am. Still sucks when my kids are eating yummy food, but that is just how it is.....best of luck. you can do this.

calories and protein
This question is best for your Nut or MD. My surgery is 10/22 and I am on a 2 week pre-op diet, but it includes between 1500 and 1800 calaries for someone over 250 lbs. I am supposed to eat something (MRD, Greek Yogurt, protein bar) about every three hours. I am then to finish off the day with a "lean and green" meal (2-4 cups salad or veggies and 3-4 oz lean meat). The day before surgery is all clear liquids and of course bowel prep. I am 7 days in and have lost 14 lbs. I feel like killing someone most days, and hide in my room so I don't smell food from the house lol. IEveryone has a different program....again ask your MD or Nut. Best of luck!
