October 2013 Sleevers Roll call!

Lets stay in touch guys, if there is a forum for us already please point me to it, otherwise, I'll start:

Surgery date: 10/23/13

Highest weight: 283

Surgery weight: 277

Current weight: 271 (1week post op)

Pre op meds vs post op meds:

type 2 diabetes pre op-2 insulins 2 pills/

post op-1 pill only 1/2 the pre surgery dose- still on high cholesterol meds but I suspect that will change after my pcp follow up.

I am struggling to not get on the scale until my 2 wk post op, 3 days to go I'll keep you guys posted. Gas/constipation is my biggest complaint. Getting down all of my liquids and Protein is my biggest struggle. Staying positive is my biggest accomplishment....

VSG ON 3....1 2 3 VSG!!!! Let's get it!!!!

Sleeved 10/17 HW 270 SW 238 CW 215 I'm having trouble being hungry ALL THE TIME! I was expecting the "hunger" portion of my stomach to be gone, but I friggin stay hungry. I try to curb it with water and sugar free popcicles, but this mess is hard! I feel fine and I'm doing so well with the healing that my dr even released me to exercise. I started today. I'm hoping that exercise will help kill the hunger? suggestions? solutions?

I have that same problem. Hopefully someone responds with a solution.

I have acid too. I tried zeigrid (sp) - the nurse recommended it. It has been excellent and better than all the others I tried.

Haven't lost any weight in almost a week... but I am trying to ignore that!

I am getting in my Protein but not sure about enough calories (I seem to get about 500 per day but I am trying to push that up.)

Glad to read all the posts here!

Sleeved October 7th, so five weeks out and down 50 pounds! Feel great! Everyone is doing and looking great. Included updated pic... Excuse the penguin pajamas I was getting ready for bed lol.

When you feel better you need to kick your cousins' butts for that BK run. They could've done that another time.

Exactly

Thanks wonderful progress!!! I love to hear the good stuff

Thank you

Down 50 lbs total.

Smooth sailing so far. Today is my one-month surgiversary! NUT told me yesterday that increasing my Protein (I'm rarely hitting 80 g, but close) and Fluid (rarely hitting 64 oz, but close) may result in faster weight loss.

I'm also researching moving from Synthroid to "desiccated thyroid." I'm reading that many people gain/retain weight on Synthroid.

Went to see my surgeon today for my one month post op appointment. Cleared to eat all (appropriate) foods now... So nice to be able to eat those dry roasted edamame/almonds etc.- missed my crunch! I've been reaching my protein goal each day, maybe not drinking as much water as I should though- probably 40-50 oz per day. Once I hit my puréed stage, weight loss has been really slow. They suggested that I up my calories from 650-750 to closer to 1000 calories per day. First time a doctor told me to eat more calories! Kind of surreal, lol. We'll see if that works.

I truly am not a fan of puree phase. Lol.. hopefully soft foods next week. My 1month appt is Tuesday!
