I just want to say to all who are wishing someone who does not know about your band would notice your weight loss.....THEY DO!! People are noticing but they might not be able to put their finger on the exact thing about you that is different. And then there are the people who won't say anything to you at all, but that doesn't mean they don't notice!!! Think of all the times you have seen someone who has lost weight and you haven't said anything to them. Pretty soon EVERYONE will be noticing you!!! Good Luck! Deanna

I am set for workout number two tomorrow morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had mexican for dinner.......... I ate chips and salsa and a cheese quesidilla........ although less than I would of eating pre band...... more than a cup..... I guess 1.5 cc's isn't enough to really give me restriction.

You guys... I need help/advice please... from all my violets...

Today I am 2 weeks out from surgery... feel great... no problems... EXCEPT --

I CAN EAT ANYTHING! And I mean, anything. And a lot of it. And big bites. And fast. Waah Waah Wahh! :)

I swear I don't even feel like I have a band in there!

I guess this is "bandster hell"??

Struggled to stay on mushies all day today (really struggled)... then tonight, through a "series of unfortunate events", we ended up at our local pizza joint for dinner... so I got a grilled chix salad... and ate the WHOLE THING. No probs. Felt like I could've eaten more! :)

What to do?? scale is going up. Mood is going d-o-w-n. I'm having those "OMG -- this is not going to work for me!" scary thoughts!

Can you guys share your daily menus? recipes? tricks?

I swear, I read what Teach eats and I think I'd starve on that little -- the "guts" of 1/2 of a wrap? Is that what it's supposed to be like? Eat that & be "satisfied"?? I want that!! Does that come w/the fills??

Waah waah wahh............................

Yes ma'am, you are officially in bandster hell....I know this is not a comfort right now, but when you get a fill, life will be much better, I promise. Hang in there, its all worth it!! (((hugs)))

Why did I think it would take longer to get to hell???

Waah waah.

I know I am a big baby.

I really feel like I've used up all my willpower between the 2 weeks pre-op liquid diet and the 2-weeks post-op liquid and I was so excited to add simply mushies and I feel like I've just blown them by... so my reality is that I've got to pull some more Iron willpower out of my a$$ for 3 or so more weeks... is that it?? <stomping my foot like a 3-yr-old!>

Breathe in... breathe out...

ok... I guess I just need to get my head around this new, yucky reality and suck it up and grit my teeth and do what needs to be done. Man oh man oh man oh man... I thought the band would at least "help" a little! Sheesh!

Wow I am cranky!!!

mdrai- join the club!! haven't you heard me whining about getting my first fill for weeks now? lol

Bandster hell DOES suck.. I just got my first fill last week, so far I don't notice anything different except maybe in the mornings.. I dunno.. I still can eat just about anything at night.

So far the ONLY thing I can not eat anymore at anytime.. is hamburgers.

Which is a blessing in disguise I guess..and from the food thread about hamburgers, I seem to be alone in this. Ground beef in a patty shape with or without a yummy goodness bun.. just wont sit right for me, makes me feel sick.

So yeah I feel ya.. you're normal, it will get better, etc etc.. I keep telling myself that :)

yeah, yeah... I heard most of you whining... but somehow it seemed like longer between band & hell... I guess it's all in the perspective, huh? :)

I haven't tried an actual hamburger yet. Not supposed to eat red meat for another 4 weeks -- bwah ha ha ha ha ha!

Remember that I'm a month or more behind all of you... so just beginning the "whining" stage, I guess... great -- not!

This is so true! I forget about the times I've noticed someone lost weight but didn't feel right saying something. One friend asked me if I cut my hair...does that count?

Poor Mdrai! Ok, remind me...when do you get your 1st fill? Ok, the thing I'd like to suggest is this: eat whatever you want (within reason) as long as it's not simple carbs (like breads, potatoes, corn, rice, sugar, etc.). Eat all the caesar salad you want, eat all the ham and cheese you want, eat all the broc/cheddar Soup you want, fruit, vegetables, etc. JUST NO JUNK! Make that one rule for yourself: NO JUNK food. Can you do that? And work on your head stuff. Read a book about how to change bad habits, visualization, make a collage of picture of you when you were at your ideal weight and put it on your wall. Buy a size 14 swimsuit and tack it to your closet door. Get the vision of your future self in your head and BELIEVE, girl...BELIEVE!!! Catch those negative thoughts in midstream...gently dismiss them and replace them with loving kind thoughts of yourself and your abilities. KNOW that you can do this. Know it to your core. Believe in yourself and stop RIGHT NOW the beating of yourself. K? :) XOXOXO!!

For those of you starting a new exercise routine...have you thought about making some goals for June? Let us know what they are and how you're proceeding by pasting it in your signature. It helps to keep you accountable! Really!

Hello all

So I survived day 2 of bartending class. - and amazingly I'm still awake. I miss my kids and my hous is a mess.

So... here goes, I was offered a server position at the Crowne Plaza, the only Hotel in downtown Albany, and where all the performers stay who are in concert here... Please tell me with my great personality why I would not pick up a couple of days?

I have bartending interview at 9:30 tomorrow am - that should be fun early in the am. This is my week, something great is going to come along!

So, went to Dr. today too, and guess what ... NO FILL.... We laughted and joked around but he told me I was doing fantastic, eating exactally what he wanted me to and averaging 3lbs a week and he would like to hold off on the fill. I think I'm going to be like Kat, I recently saw her say she has only had 2 fills. My Dr said some people never need any. It did feel great to have his stamp of approval of me and my progress. He is very strict and I am his "perfect - lapband cheerleader" yes, that is what I have been called in there. He does not like to band just anyone and he told me he made a great call with me. So...........off to the gym after my interview.

Hi all,

We managed one test today, the other they postponed until in the morning just prior to the procedure. They found that he has seriously diminished heart function, he is only operating at 37% of normal. That was a very upsetting shock. We have to be at the hospital at 6:30 AM. Surgery following the test which begins at 9. I have no signal at the hospital....dammit. So will check in again when we get home.

So as if I was not stressed enough coming to do this....my 2 1/2 year old granddaughter that I babysit for most days...is hurt. She got in trouble, got a swat and a timeout for jumping off of the couch. Amanda is always onto her for climbing and jumping. Well she hadn't been out of the corner for 10 minutes she said and she jumped off of her toybox...and broke her ankle!!! She has extremely delicate bones, and the normal daredevil of a 2-3 year old. But she is still under 20 pounds, and in 12 month size clothes, she is just tiny. She is on target for developement, she is talking well, and potty trained, just a little thing. Anyway, leaving her was so hard!!!

The ortho said Kinsey has a green fracture of her ankle. But that it should heal well, and quickly. She told me she wanted to come to my house and snuggle in the big couch---I felt so bad not being there!!!

Well I am off to try to get some sleep....will be in touch.

Thanks so much for all the good wishes. HUGS!!!!

Hey everyone,

Ok...I read through the posts, but as lunasa says, I'm pissed. I had 6 shots of Patron taquilla and a margarita. And the bad thing is I also had about 5 ciggys...I hate that. I have not had a ciggy since valentines day...and now...i blew it. I havent had a drink in over a year, and taquilla shots are good, especially since we were drinking the expensive stuff. anyway, here is the bad thing...i lied to partner. Said i wasn't gonna drink because of the ciggy thing...when i drink i smoke. But we had fun,. i was in the pool all day...got some color and and exercise. Ok, gotta go to sleep...no gym in the morning for me...but that was the plan. have a great night!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
