I must be weird. It still hasn't really hit me yet. I mean I'm three days away from a liquid diet and thirteen days away from surgery!!! It just doesn't seem real. I keep waiting on something to happen...lol. This kind of opportunity doesn't happen to me, a new chance on life!!!

Good luck to our September 7 people

september2012 and Lexi ! Best wishes for a speedy recovery and baby steps on your journeys. Tomorrow we will be 10/36 almost 1/3 of us will have their surgery.

Jessica (Janelane) hope you are still my surgery day sista but if you got moved up I am happy for you!

I am going to work on my bucket list the things I am looking forward to being possible. I am reading a book suggested by my support group called the power of habit. It talks about how people changed their lives by changing their habits. One lady was divorced depressed in debt over wt and a heavy smoker. She got a goal in her mind going across a dessert on an excursion and she thought the only way to achieve it was to be a nonsmoker and lose wt. with that goal or reward in mind she gave up the cigs and was so focused she changed her brain chemistry. She still had the urges to smoke and eat but she overload it with that goal. So that's why I am going to think of my bucket list and get a strong goal in my head to motive my recovery, exercise, wt loss, and live changes. Got to rewire the Brain to be a thin active person.

Bucket list

I have many desires but I want a concise list to focus on in the coming months to rewire my brain and change my habits.

Walk up and down steps " hands free"

Go to Africa on a mission trip.- this one includes the fitting in an airplane seat and being able to walk at least 1 mile!

Meet a man I can attract and be attracted to.

LIVE LARGE - philosophically not physically

I think that's enough to focus on. I want to keep these four things in my mind when the going gets rough. Might even laminate the list.

Bucket List

- Being able to have children with my husband

- Fitting into a roller coaster( a bit childish but a happy tibulation to overcome).

- Being able to bend down without losing my breathe.

I know its not much, but, all I truly want is lead a healthier and much happier life with my husband with the hopes of having a familt with him. It's true the road is arduous and tedious, but without the trials and tribulations that we have surpassed and will surpass, we move towards being happy with ourselves and those that surround us. Quick and healthy recoveries to those of you that have under gone surgery already and those having surgery this month. We've finally made it to the finish line.

Lilli

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
