I stopped differentiating between pre and post op weightloss a few months ago. Seriously it's all weightloss and one is no important than the other. When people ask about my weightloss i used tell both, then i realized how silly it sounded to them so i just stopped. Don't need to worry about the small stuff instead focus on the bigger picture of total pounds lost. Much more amazing. I lost 10 plus pounds the week before surgery (honestly can't remember now) and 85 after but the total of 95 still stands. Whooohoooo Congrats on starting your journey!! Keep up the good work

I find it fascinating to know the weight loss post-op. It's great, esp. being a newbie, to hear of the success and know how ppl are doing week to week. No worries about it, just like to hear it, and right now, I like to post my post-op loss and how long it has taken me to get there, as well.

I count the day of surgery. I've been weighing every morning anf today is 9 days post op. I haven't lost anything in 3 days and I've been walking a mile everyday. I am so upset.

Lisa :-) surgery date: Dec. 4th, 2012

Oh, no....I don't weigh every day because weight fluctuates. Only once a week is what I've always been told, so that's what I've always done...every diet. lol. So, I'm making my weigh-in day on Friday (if I can remember). lol

Good luck!!

You gain weight after surgery bc of all the swelling and fluids they pump into you. It toom me a week to get back to surgery weight.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
