Albany, New York....?

Recommended Posts

I guess all I've done is drink more Water, switched from Bagels to bagel thins (I should probably give them up all together)...and trying to avoid carbs and Snacks at night. Obviously I'm not doing a good enough job.

I am planning next week's meals INCLUDING Breakfast and lunch (which I never plan and then graze...not good!)

Any ideas...maybe have a couple of really low calorie days (like 500 cals)?

I am 10 weeks post op. 40 lbs since surg. Nothing was req pre op I did loose 5 lbs from Xmas to jan 7th. Love my sleeve. Try cutting out a carb each day because once u have surg they will be a no no. Lots of chicken n fish. I changed my diet two weeks before surg to get used to it. Also did a liquid week to prepare myself. Give up all sugar n caffein. Do u have a date?

@@jenniebell00 No, no date yet. I have the endoscopy and my 2nd appt with the nutrionist/md left, I'm hoping to have a date soon so I know how much time I have left. I hope I can lose the 10lbs by my 2nd appt with the nutritionist...

Complications have arised that are prolonging my stay. Unable to urinate, so a catheter was needed, along with some now unexpected pain. Hopefully I can go home tomorrow we will see. :/

Ouch. Sorry to hear it. Hopefully, you are resting peacefully at home as I type this. <3

I am freaking out a bit. I was supposed to lose 10lbs, I have a couple of more weeks until I see Dr. Lemanski and I've stayed the SAME so far! I thought for sure 10lbs wouldn't be too hard to do since I have so much to lose but apparently I'm not trying hard enough. I've only gone to him once and don't want to delay surgery so I better hit 10lbs before my appt.

Any advice?

Ugh, Lemanski is tough. I wouldn't go through all that again for anything. Ten pounds can be easy with low carbs and lots of Water. Or, as in my case, with Type 2 diabetes and lots of insulin, it can be nearly impossible. He pushes a Mediterranean-style diet, but ten pounds in a couple weeks will be tough. I'd recommend low carbs and lots of Water. No cheating. As soon as you begin eating carbs again, your liver will fill back up with glycogen and you will see a jump on the scale. So no carbs until after he weighs you.

By the way, I had surgery 12/11, I'm down 55 lbs (probably more) and I'm no longer diabetic. :-)

Sorry, things have been pretty hectic. I got home from hospital, and am slowly but surely recovering. The pain is worse then what I expected, but manageable with the happy pills they have given me, and they have given me permission to take them closer together do to the pain. I did have to have a balloon cath done on I believe day two (I'm a bit foggy, not sure exactly what day it was). It was a long drawn out process and they had to get 800, which took a lot of tugging, yanking, twisting, pulling, time and so on, tmi I know sorry, but I now have a very bad UTI to add on top on my revision. Because of my Lupus I am placed at higher risk for infection, and this of course happened. I'm doing okay though and sorry I haven't updated, just been hectic with recently getting home from hospital and testing and taking it easy. They had me released with a walker because I'm more unstable then usual, a bit weak, and feel a tad fragile. I am slowly but surely getting better though. Patience is a virtue :-)

Although it goes against common nature, I've heard that if you increase your calories by a couple hundred a day, you can kick start a loss.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
