2 years!

Wow, time flies! I am 2 years post op... My story: I started in the 260's..... made my very modest weight loss goal (170lbs) in 9 months and have been maintaining fairly easily since, (a few ups and downs!) At one point I was up 7-8 pounds but I am currently holding within 2 pounds of my low weight. I was eating sliders for sure, I caught myself and got back on track with normal eating. I still have hunger, I only lost it for about 4 months. I still have fair restriction, but sliders are almost as easy to eat as before. I eat anywhere between 1500-2000 calories a day to maintain. I don't eat low carb, but I try to fuel my body healthily. Don't get me wrong, I still eat cheezits and cookie dough for dinner sometimes! I drink 2-3 beers per week, and drink sparkling water everyday, no troubles with carbonation. I bike or slowly jog/ walk a few days a week. Nothing crazy. I have a fairly active job as a RN. I have ZERO loose skin BUT I am 170 pounds, so if i wanted to see 130 pounds I might run into that problem. I wear as size 12 and mediums and some larges. (pre-op I was 2x and 24 easy) I would like to maintain my weight for another year then try to lose 10 more pounds. I am super happy, best decision I have ever made to get the sleeve. I am 30 years old and weigh less today then I did when I was 12 years old!

I am very grateful for this website, I have been on nearly everyday for the past 2 1/2 years, and I will keep coming back to help keep me in track!

take care

You look great!

I am sorta discouraged now. I started at 264 and I want to to be 130.

I am 186 now and a size 12 and med-large tops and that's not good enough for me. I carb rotate and shock my body and fast and do all the things your supposed to keep the weight coming off but not to be 130 might be so discouraging!

I am so happy you look great and are happy where you are!

You're only 6 months out, I think you are doing fantastic. No reason to give up or be discouraged, it will just go slower now.

OP: You look great! Congratulations. Its always cool to read the long term results.

love your posts Kathy!!! Always good to see you here :-)

Wow congrats!

This is a great post! Thank you for sharing your story. I'm only two weeks out and my goal weight is 160-170 lbs. I have been between 130-144 lbs in the past and I don't look good that skinny! I love how I look in the 160-180 range. Your post gave me encouragement as I'm trying to figure what the future will be like. It's good to know that I will be able to increase my calorie count and eat (very little) some desserts and treats. Right now, I'm just focusing on getting as much weight off as possible because I know that we experience the most loss early on in our sleeve journeys. I hope you continue to enjoy your life and congratulations!!

You look terrific sleeve of steel...and apparently are quite the fisherperson.

Great job.

you look fantastic as well!! I like how you have your pic a before and after!

sounds awesome! Not everyone wants/ needs to be very thin, I couldn't be happier ! Keep me posted on your progress !

Congrats, you look great....and HAPPY! Thanks for the inspiration to us newbies!

Sleeve, this was the perfect post for me to read today. I have been having an internal discussion about 'goal' for me lately. I feel great where I am, and would just like to tone up a bit more in the ab area. Prior to surgery I was thinking 130 lbs, but then changed that goal to 140 as at my age & stage I thought it would be more realistic.

I'm with you as far as wanting to be happy with eating this new normal way - not feeling like I'm constantly dieting or battling with food. Thank you for your honest, down to earth and personal insight.

Much appreciated.

you're welcome!! Reality is: being on a "diet" sucks. Being healthy and normal is possible! I have pretty much weighed the exact same for 11 months with this philosophy. I will not go back to my old ways and gain weight but I am enjoying life and don't have to worry about staying under 1200 calories to weigh 130lbs.

Well done on your loss and maintenance. I remember your posts when I was pre-op and they were always so sensible and I really liked your attitude to goal weight. I personally have decided on a total wight loss of 100lb which would still leave me in the overweight category but I hope it will be a weight I can maintain and look and feel good at.
