:D

Laura is pretty cool but I don't think it would work. My wife is from hillbilly stock and would eventually give Laura a shotgun facial. :o:D

Lol!! She might have to get in line!

To both of the ladies having a problem eating and drinking, have you tried sf popsicles, pudding w/protein powder in it or propel Water, cottage cheese or maybe mashed potatos w/ gravy? The reason your so tired and weak is because of your Protein intake. Are you taking your Vitamins and the B12? I hope both of you can find some kind of relief from the feelings your having. Open your curtains and let the sunshine in or take in some fresh air. Find something that you enjoy to do, dont let depression keep you down from an experiance that is gonna change your life for the better. Its all going to be ok, it just takes a little time.

I am so depressed i want to be normal again. I wish i could go back and just get on a diet. I wanted to lose weight the easy way and i didnt care what plp said to me so many times and i didnt listen. They told me i dont need to do it but i did it without thinking im so stupid. I cant even drink Water like i want to im always thirsty and all i want is pepsi and food. I am going trough a lot right now the only thing that is keeping me alive and a lil strong are my two daughters i love them and dont want to leave them. I wish i could go back and not do this surgery god please help me.

I am 4months out and I still get depressed sometimes but with each day that passes it gets better! They are busy teaching u the eating part but the emotional part is way bigger I think! I still cannot eat like I did before so I dnt go out to eat anymore too depressing but hey thats why you get the surgery but its a life style change so hang in there! God Bless

I went thru some pretty dark times myself as well. I'm 7 weeks out today and its amazing/funny to me how depressed I was around weeks 2-4. I would sit in the house all day and do nothing and cry and watch food Network lol! It was my coping mechanism dont judge me lol. Something about looking at food all day made me a lil bit happier. It was uber weird!! And the Constipation from not drinking enough! It was HORRIBLE!! I had to go to the ER for an enema and everything. And I was all 'I just wanna eat & **** peacefully!!!' And regretting this surgery big time. But fast forward to now, I'm feeling great! I can eat pretty much normal food now, I learned my lesson on SF drinks ( I HATE THEM & I don't like what artificial sweeteners do. I've already had a cancer scare in my life.) so I drink regular Powerade. Yeah it has more sugar and carbs than the low cal ones but honestly I'm not consuming a lot of anything. The weight will still come off. I've lost 40 lbs and like 7 inches since surgery on 3/20/13... Find what works for you! And get up out of the house! It WILL get better! And think of how much fun you're gonna have taking those lil ones to Disney World next year! I'm taking mine as well. That's my motivation in dark moments. Hold on to that! Love & light from me to u!!!

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
