Great explanation. Here are some things I'm noticing about my fill - I received a 2.2cc's in a 4cc band - pretty tight, but not so tight that I get food stuck, not once have I got food stuck, But at times I can feel it going thru the band and it is a pain and I would hate for it to get stuck. Anyhow, back to the band and restriction, for me my restriction varries I've noticed. During TOM, I'm really restricted right now, during the day, not so much, then around 7 pm get really restricted again, could only eat 1 chicken tender for dinner Friday night, but ate an enitire chick thigh for lunch, along with a spring roll, 2 grilled shrimp and a few bites of rice.

I find then at times, I'm loser in the evenings too, I really never know how tight I'm going to be. Its almost 2 weeks since my fill. I am supposed to go on 4/5 for my 2nd, but right now, I'm happy with this one. We'll see if I lose more, or start to stall as the time gets closer.

I just don't want to start getting food stuck and having all the PB problems.

PS - Last night I went to a wedding (My counsins), I havent seen my family in so long, I felt really bad at times because I felt like I was stealing the brides "thunder". Everyone just kept telling my how good I look, (blush) and the best part of it, my old boyfriend was there (gosh he was so hot, he looks like I swear, clint black with blond hair, same dimples and everything - yes he dumped me!). Anyhow, my heart jumps a little when I see him, although I love my DH dearly, I think its just a hurt pride kinda thing, well, he saw me and came over and gave me a hug, and as he hugged me he told me I looked better today then I did 21 years ago. I was thinking "glad you noticed", then I introduced him to my DH of 19 yrs! (he has gone thru several divorces). So, I felt like he might have broke my heart 20 something years ago, but in the end, I've done better without him! (He was still as good looking as ever though!) lol

I can relate. I only have 1 cc in and I know it's not enough. I'm hoping that with the second fill I'll be where I should be. I only feel "restriction" when I eat too fast and the food "pushes" itself through the band...:faint: yes, I know I need to slow down...

How cool is it when you get to show your new you!! (i know it was your cousins wedding, but didn't it feel sooooooo good?) Especially with the X part...lol..You do look good (I saw your before/during pix) keep up the good work and thanks for all the inspiration!!! Go Tonya, Go Tonya, Go...:clap2: :kiss2:

Now THAT's what I call a great NSV! (Non scale victory for our new friends!) Don't we all have a few people we want to run into when we get to goal?! Old boyfriends... old boses... unkind people!

Victory is living well! Congrats!

Sunshine1 you are doing awesome!!!! I'm soooooo jealous! We were banded on the same day and I have a lot more weight to lose than you. Very proud of what I have lost....just wish I was doing as good as you! I agree with restriction without losing a part of normal every day eating with out PB'ing. Met a lady at the Dr.s office the other day who is (and wants) restriction so tight she can't eat meat. Not me, just want tight enough to live life like most normal people! Plus, we're farmers who raise our own beef....husband would probably divorce me (kidding!) if I became a vegetarian!

Anyway, you're doing great...keep up the good work!

5jacks - I am so proud of you! Great job!!!

Thank you.... you're doing great too! You were banded after me and have lost almost as much! You've already had 2 fills? I'm jealous....I have some restriction but not a lot. Not scheduled for 2nd fill until March 26.

:welldoneclap: HI myfoursons! Welcome and congratulations:clap2: :clap2: :clap2: !!! How are you feeling?

I am doing well. I have had 1cc fill in a 4cc band. I had no restriction after first fill. They told me to come back in a month, but I called to see if I could get it done sooner, so I am going for fill #2 tomorrow.

I haven't had any side effects yet. That may change with fill #2. But so far, I love my band!

I am glad you are doing well! Same here. I have the same (1cc in 4cc band) and my second fill is on tuesday. My MD said it usually takes 4 fills to get to the "sweet spot"...Let's see how it goes. I'm hoping it doesn't take that much for me...

It has been awhile since I have been here. I was banded January 30th, 2007. Just got my first fill Thursday the 15th of March...1cc in my 4cc band. I don't feel anything yet, but I need to give it time. Doc said if I feel no difference or can still eat the same amount to call for another fill in 2 weeks. I have only lost 15 lbs since surgery...ugh. But I guess it is better than nothing , right?

I wonder exactly what the 'sweet spot' is supposed to feel like??? I have had two fills and have restriction, but am not losing nearly as fast as I would like . . . I am afraid if I get another fill I will be too tight and I know that is no fun either . . .

Anyone have any idea what the 'sweet spot' feels like???

Thanks,

Lynn

Hey all. 6 weeks post op; no fill yet. On my 90 global period, so I'm looking at another 6 weeks with no fill unless I want to pay the one thousand myself.

Anyway, it's my PRE PMS week where in the past my appetite has always been insatiable. Well...nothing has changed. Friday night I ate three fish sticks - should have had no more than two. Saturday I woke up and had salmon for Breakfast, lunch I had some ham, picked on cheese in between...and dinner was no better, 1/2 of crabcake and two frozen burritos, 3 oz each. I was grazing all day. Today; breakfast was 1 cup of cheerios with 1 cup of skim, lunch I HAD to try and see if I could 'swallow' without sticking - the Taco Bell taquitos. Now...I am no fan of fast food. So two taquitos and a mexi melt for lunch. Still haven't fell 'full' or restriction. Dinner was some roast beef; 5 oz.

Honestly, I feel like I am 'testing the waters'. Almost like a sabotage of sorts. I'm still pissed at what the surgeon said about me being on the 'slow side of weight loss'. I'm determined NOT to have to wait another 6 weeks. I'm reconizing a 'past' habit...loose a few - only to blow it and gain, get depressed and eat. So - there you have it. I'm feeling a bit of a failure. I know that tomorow is a new day. The last few weeks have been glorious - even without fill, I"ve had a bit of restriction. Now, I recognize I'm satisfied. Still not STUFFED - no horrible feeling I'd have to unbutton my jeans. I know I'm not going to regain the 23lbs in just one weekend. But I know I can CERTAINLY see 5lbs up - if I were to check. I'm scared, but I will on Thursday, my weigh day.

Whew....just had to vent. Looking for positive reinforcement. Can I seriously make it all the way until a fill? I have to remember all the suffering I've done - read my diary and posts here. I think that might be a good idea. hehehe - scare me straight. :omg:

Yup, 2 fills! When I went for the first one, my doc said to call her right away if I could still eat more than 1/2 cup at a time. Well, I put it off a little, but I'm so glad I went. I'm feeling some true restriction now!

I hesitate to say it (don't want to jinx myself!), but I think I'm there. I have 1.5ccs in a 4cc band. I am very restricted -- I definitely can only get in 1/2 cup at a time. For example today looked liked this:

Breakfast: 1 egg scrambled with mushrooms and cheese (I only ate half)

Lunch: 1/4 cup pulled BBQ pork, 1/4 cup broccoli pieces

Dinner: 4oz turkey burger (no bun), 4 fries

The first few days after this fill, there was a bit of a learning curve. I kept trying to eat too much too fast. I even barfed Saturday morning. Not fun! And all I had was a few bites of cucumber and a few bites of leftover rice and labneh. Yeah, it was gross.

And the biggest reason I think it's the sweet spot... the scale has finally moved down again!

Maria

Has anyone out there received the 10cc band? I just got filled 4cc in the large band and do not feel much restriction at all. Please tell me what restriction feels like.

Oh and by the way, what does PB mean? (I'm a chubbah so I think of peanut butter!) lol

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
