I have a question being new to this board. Why are so many people having surgery in Mexico?

I can't answer for everyone, but for me the reason I'm going to Mexico is because my insurance would not cover the procedure in the US, so I have to self pay. $5000 in Mexico vs $20000 in the US is the main reason. Having said that, after looking into Mexico, I'm very excited about the surgeon who will be performing my procedure. I'm more comfortable with him than I was with the surgeon I was seeing in the US.

Hi all! Im March 7, MiDoctor Hospital with Cabrera/Valenzuela. (I cant spell.) I am coming from Orlando. I started the pre-op diet Sunday and im down 10 lbs. Ive found the best way to beat the hunger is stay incredibly busy. Im a nurse, so luckily im busy all day. I get in about 5 miles a day of walking at work, then I go to Universal Studios when I get off and thats another 4 miles of walking. Im doing pretty good beating the hunger. I thought I would be alot more miserable.

Agreed reasons are different for everyone, price is a factor (fraction of the cost in the states) but also the experience of the surgeons there. Do the research, I have been doing mine for about 8 months before booking my surgery. March 20 is my and my friends magic day.

March 13 with dr f garcia

I'm getting very excite for march 6!! I am on a liquid diet and down 12 pounds. I am ready for this!! I'm getting a little nervous. The guy that is picking me up from the airport left me a message. I am to get off the plane get my luggage and go outside where a driver will be waiting for me. My question is how will I know who my driver is?

This thread is pretty quiet lately.

Started pre-op today, my bmi is 42 so they told me to do a 10 day preop. I am already dying.....this is HARD!!

Only being able to have a shake for breakfast and lunch is harder than I thought.

It is very hard but it does get easier. I'm on a liquid only diet for 16 days. I'm on day 14 now. It's still hard but bait as hard as the first 5 days! I thought I would eat my fingers off.
