I, too, have this problem. Once you eat carbs it's like an addict needing a fix. I will be doing some serious adjustments on monday..BTW, 6 weeks and 35 down.

Oh man, I am so glad I am not the only one out there battling this. I have given in to eating a valentines cookie and some blueberry muffin today after swearing off baked goods since last Nov. I feel like I am on a slippery slope right now and about to go down quick. My weight loss has stalled off and on since I had this surgery, even when I was eating quite perfectly. I worked out like crazy a few weeks ago and there was no movement so I kind of got upset about it and have been letting go a bit. I really know this is falling back into old behaviors and thinking though. Ugh. Time to snap out of it.

I have not been eating well either. I have been feeling hungry a lot and only four months out.Not eating too much at a time, just not right things. Ate chocolate around Valentine's Day and seem to be craving it now..

Don't beat yourself up. Just get rid of all the bad food in the house and start out fresh with Protein Shakes and only have what is on the plan. You went through sooooo much to get this done, don't blow it now. You can do this. Hey if I can do this anyone can!!!

I'm only about 3 weeks out but my dad is over a year out. He went from 350 to 195 and eats what he wants, just less. He even eats fast foods, hot wings, sweets, etc. I don't know if its the norm but its worked for him! He does still focus on Protein first!

I am 10 weeks out and down approx. 20 pounds. I am really happy with my progress, down from a size 24/3x to a size 18/1x. I haven't been this size in about 20 years. But, with Valentines day came a beautiful box of top quality chocolate. I have enjoyed the chocolates, there are a few left. The scale has gone up a pound, but I completely understand why. Now I get back to reality and appreciate the gift that I have been given.

You actually lose the most in the first 6 months, not the first three. You need to refocus yourself on why you got this surgery in the first place. I have eaten a basically low carb high Protein diet and am 3.8 pounds from my goal weight. If you eat too much processed carbs, it is true you will crave more and eat more, some are slider foods. Stay away from any kind of cracker unless it is one made of only grain(ryvita). Get the unwanted food out of your house, tell husband, friends, co-workers that you don't eat/want certain foods. Don't buy these foods for your family; they don't need them either. Take control and put yourself first.

On a side note at work on Valentine's Day we had a potluck dinner; I brought my own because I had no idea if there would be anything there for me to eat, glad that I did.

You want to lose as much as you can in the first six months don't waste this time.

Are you on any calorie counter/exercise tracking site? Are you tracking your foods? I think the best thing is to track your daily intake. Try myfitnesspal.com, you can track your daily food intake. I have found that Pre planning works best, do that and stick with it. Like another poster mentioned above, throw out all of the bad foods so you aren't tempted.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
