My 1st post op appt. today went great. I'm down 30 lbs. from my first weigh-in. I got the green light to start with the trainer on Monday...I'm super excited. I've decided to weigh myself once a month because I don't want to get discouraged to about stalling.

Question...has anyone started working on their core? Things feel funny in there after resistance training. Really weird but i have been cleared to do this. Thoughts?

Started the process at 260, down four after two week pre-surgery diet. No pain post surgery, although uncomfortable as all hell with the gas and the extra Fluid. Stayed an extra two days as my BP went nutty. Back at home I have really tried to stick to the post diet, but with a wife and four kids around it's hard to not, cheat, well advance a little early. Went to see the surgeon who blew a gasket when I told him I had some egg whites from a carton because I was feeling hungry and that my body "needed" something solid.

No regrets, but not eating isn't easy....hey...isn't that how we got here?

Thank You Evolving, I truly appreciate it. I'm super lazy and can talk myself out of a 30 minute walk on the treadmill in 0.0 seconds so I need the push...lol

Question...No pain with drinking (not sipping)' date=' no discomfort at all ever, getting liquids, puddings and cream Soups down easily. Other than no appetite, and easily feeling full, I would wonder if the doc did anything. Am I just blessed or are there others.with similar experience? Sleeved 2/26/13 down 16 lbs in 2 weeks.[/quote']

We were sleeved on the same day. I had very little pain or complications. I was determined to get my Protein in and have been very successful coming up with combinations to reach my protein goals and still have some variety in what I'm eating. I found myself wondering if the doc did anything to me as well. Maybe 2/26 was a day for lucky sleevers ;)

I was sleeved 2/28' date=' went in for my first pre-op appt on 3/4 and was already down 10 pounds!

I've always struggled to lose weight on my own, but I dropped 2 pounds post op.

I planned on weighing every Thursday so it was exact weeks from surgery...I didn't weigh yesterday bc I had just weighed in at the Dr Monday ....plus I've been in the hospital with a Dang kidney stone since Tuesday night ...so I'm sure with the I.V.s, I am probably carrying extra Water weight[/quote']

Congrats HockeyMa on your weightloss so far. Best of luck with the stones. Hopefully you recover quickly

I was sleeved on 2/7/13. So far I am having lots of problems with vomiting. Had an Upper GI yesterday and hope to find out what's going on. Anyone else having similar problems?

I am so excited! I had my first post op appt Thursday and they took my drain out which was great as I was so sick of that thing. My excitement is from the fact that I have lost 17lbs. I was sleeved on the 27th and I sometimes wonder what I am doing wrong because I am not having any issues. I can drink almost normally with no pain. It isn't until I eat that I realize that my intake has cut down dramatically. I am just scared that if it is too easy I will slip back into old habits. I keep reminding myself that I lost about 30 lbs pre op by the changes I had already made I will not slip back because I know better. I guess I am scared of old patterns.

I'm below 350 for the first time in about 3 years. The last diet I was on took me from 430 to about 345. That was a 7 month diet. I never could go lower than 345 (even though I was working out 90 minutes a day) and became discouraged.

I started my sleeve journey at 397 on 1/31. I'm 349 on 3/9 and I haven't even been cleared for strenuous work outs yet! Life is good! I can't wait to start kicking some ass in the gym!

That sounds like perfect planning, very smart.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
