To much artifical food?

Recommended Posts

I have always got in eatting ruts be it healthy or junk food I tend to eat the same thing over and over. My current rut has been

Breakfast: premier shake

Am snack 1/2 premier bar

Lunch: Tyson fully cooked chicken Breast & green veggie

Pm Snack: 1/2 premier bar

Supper: Tyson fully cooked chicken Breast & green veggie

That comes up to 650 calories, 33 carbs and 102 grams of Protein.

Should I consider this a good day if I also get my fluids in? Or is it to much processed and not enough real food. I eat no fruit because carbs go high and veggies are there but not much. I occasionally change the chicken to fish. Is 102 grams of Protein too much?

Weight stats

12/5 Surgery 277

Today 251-252

I have struggled with long stall as most of the weight was lost in first 2 weeks after surgey. Opinions appreciated. Rudeness not so much.

I think this looks pretty good. I know what you mean about ruts, and about eating too much artificial food. I try to find a balance between keeping the nutrients we need, and keeping my calories down, and not eating too much artificial stuff. It's tough. I figure I do have time to figure out what works best for me in the long run as far as trying to eat more "real" food.

Your weight loss stats look pretty good! Great job.

If it is working, then why change it? However, our bodies do flourish with variety, especially with veggies and fruits. These are foods that provide our body with protective nutrients we need. Also, maybe venture out with some shrimp, scallops, Beans, eggs? Getting your Protein from food is ideal (vs. protein shakes/bars) once you can eat anything. I assume you are past the restrictive phase. I make my own "protein shake" with baby spinach, plain nonfat greek yogurt, 1/2 cup frozen cherries, 1/4 cup guava juice and sugar free Torani Syrup. Simply divine - a bit more carbs yes but full of many good things for the body and the protein!

Wow...I think your doing good! It took me forever and still struggle to get 70grams of Protein in. Yesterday I got 55 grams and couldn't eat anymore. I too lost the most weight during my 1st wk and stalled like 2-3 wks. The weightloss will come just be patient!!

Ultimately you have to do what works for you. I personally don't care for Protein Shakes and never really relied on them as a source of Protein. If you want to mix it up try adding boiled eggs, I eat 2 (the egg whites only) and that is about 8g of protein and its like 50 calories total. I feel like my body responds better to natural foods. Just start sneaking them in there. Your protein amount is up there so maybe you can afford to allow more veggies a d even some fruits into your diet. Good luck.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
