Even though I'm stalled, I still notice that my clothes are looser :-)

DId you take your measurements before you started? I know I didnt and I wish I did i was sleeved on 12/6 and didnt do my measurements until 1/3 I know silly me but I took off an inch and a half on my stomach since and 1 in off my bust since too.. So when you go through a stall .. They say its not really a stall if you loose inches. Its just your body readjusting thats all.. If you didnt do it now better late then never. :)

In April 2012 I decided to try to loose. From April - Oct. I lost 20 lbs on my own with the help of Victoza. Oct. to pre-op I lost 12 lbs. Post op I lost 10 lbs in the first week and 2 lbs in the past 5 weeks = 44 lbs since April. I did measure a few weeks ago and there has been some change in the past 5 weeks. Since going back to work it is really difficult to get in all my fluids - I am a gr 7 teacher. I do get all of my Protein in.

Okay well I only asked because I had a stall too and trust I understand how hard it is to get fluids in at work I really do.. However I was frustrated about my stall so I drop 1 meal and increased my fluids from 6 cups a day to 8 and the weight just started falling off again i was eating every 3 hours 5 times a day i changed that to every 4 hours 4 times a day 3 meals and a snack its not hard because I am still never hungry I fear getting my appetite back but for now as long as I dont have one I control the way this "TOOL" will work for me and I am taking full advantage of it too! I did not give up all the food and Snacks I love to FAIL!!! Oh by the way good job on the weight loss both pre op and post op.. A pound is a pound... wink well I hope you get out of your stall and soon.. Good luck

I really try to stay away from carbs...get Protein and drink lots of water!! I am really short so that might be why my number is higher! More importantly I feel so much better!!

About 32 of it... I have been losing like a pound or two every two days! I hope it continues! My mom was the same way; she lost over 100 and went from size 22/24 to a size 4!!! She is my inspiration!!!

My dr said to get a few carbs in! That's why I stalled last time I had no carbs! But just a few I would allow one every other day minimal portion! It's helped!

I agree that we all need carbs they are essential to our body... I guess I should have said that I stay away from breads entirely! I do however eat plain oatmeal in the morning with a half a cup of chocolate Protein Powder (let's face it, plain oatmeal ain't great). You can also get "good" carbs from healthy foods too! I am nooootttt perfect at all - I had a skinny girl margarita last night and loved every minute of it! But I do try and stick to a pretty strict but wonderful lifestyle everyday!

Heck yes we do!! Ok so I thought that too about drinking - like there was a 90 day waiting period but I looked through the book that my doctor gave me and it said to just be careful of sugars and such. So I don't drink often or anything but some tequila and lime juice and some other stuff won't kill me or my diet too bad.... Well I hope!!! How far out are you? I am like 6ish weeks!

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
