Well I am 5'6 and I understand how you fell I was gonna stop at 180 but i was still way to big so I took it to 165 and still not happy now I'm going for 150-155 I think there I will be okay I'm almost there and am okay with this weight Its the skin that has my tripping I'm set up for skin removal soon so its all good. maybe then I can really see my hard work.

I'm 5'8 and just knew that I would be so satisfied at 170. 170 quickly became 160 and now I'm down to 150 and still not satisfied. Loose skin is definitely an issue however, I think psychologically I'm still in that 230lb body. We are consciously taking care of our bodies physically and I fear we are neglecting to nurture the psychological.

Wow. I am three inches shorter and 150 and I know I am supposed to lose more weight based on surgeon goals, but I feel pretty darn good at 150. It sort of makes it a struggle to be motivated to do more than I do right now. Don't get me wrong, I am exercising and I am trying to eat small portions...mostly protein...BUT, I just don't feel like I need to run a marathon to get the last 10-20 off.

I have the same problem. No routine especially because of kids and whacko schedules. I will look for whatever advice other people give you.

I have the same issue as both of you. I was doing great, weight was coming off at a nice pace, then I got a new job. It's been stressful to leave what I knew and take on a big project in the corporate healthcare world....and even though I'm still doing fine with diet, I find I have less time to exercise. I've really only lost a pound or two in the last 30 days. I think it has more to do with stress hormones than anything I'm doing, but it is just adding more stress. Vicious circle. Anyway, I think I'm going to need to figure out how to exercise more. I don't think it really has that big of an impact on weight loss (I never worked out excessively even when I was losing really fast) but I do think it will help manage stress and those cortisol levels, which might impact weight loss. And of course, burning those extra calories will help, too :) Hang in there.....we will all figure out how to manage life as thin people.

Lately I've had a change in schedule! I went from being home the summer with my babies to working full time, being a full time student, 3 kids with sports and Tuesday we start school! When I was home I could monitor my meals and water!!! Now I'm all over the place. I don't eat we'll or drink plenty of water! It's take me a minute to get use to the change and its effecting my weight loss! Help....... I'm need encouragement!

Im afraid of this happening to me. I start school on the 3rd and my 3 children do too. I am planning on preparing my meals the day before and having allot of muscle milk on hand. Tupper wear is gonna be another thing that will help you/me be prepared with meals and a good lunch bag that stays cool for a long time. Hang in there and plan your meals before hand

If you could give ur clothes size and weight that would help.

Hope to here from you soon

Good job on the weight loss!

Size also depends how tall you are.

I am currently 159 lbs (72.3 kg) and I am 5' 5" (165 cm)

I am wearing size 12 to 14 depending on the brand and medium to large shirts and large pants.

Does that help?

Just popping in!

I had my surgery 12/21

Start weight 273

Day of Surgery 250

Current weight 196-198

Sizes- 8/10 dress, 12-14 pant, 16 jeans, large to medium shirts

Very happy with where I am. Wish I could have lost quicker and I didn't have issues like PCOS to deal with. I only lose once a month now, about 5lbs a month. Still trying to hit my personal goal of 100lbs down, so 173 by the end of the year. Dr. Alvarez would like to see me at 145 but we'll see how I feel once I get near there.

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
