Dec. 17 Sleevers - How are you on week out?

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on the 17th also, I am 6 weeks post op and have lost 41lbs, I am however feeling kind of sad because I seem to be stuck. I haven't lost any weight in a week and that scares me. I continue to drink 2-3 shakes per day, I snack on two Weight Watchers string cheese per day and I eat 2-3 oz of fish for dinner and I drink lots of Water through out the day. I feel like I am doing everything right and the weight is just not coming off. Any one else experiencing this type of issue??

Every doctor has a different plan. I'm actually about to stop Protein Drinks. Whatever the plan he/she has put you on stick to it. Stalls are a natural part of losing weight, so please don't loose heart. Search other strings and you will see that everyone has stalls.

re: "stalls" - I am still struggling to get to 20 lbs off a full six weeks post surgery. I eat Protein. I exercise. (Got to 6 miles of walking yesterday) but it hasn't come off easily. So you can imagine how I feel when someone loses 20, 30, 40 lbs in the first month. Even if you stall for a WHOLE month, you still will be "ahead" of me! So, even though my weight loss paradigm has little relevance to most of you who have lost a lot and stalled, I agree with other posters who are further along...You just have to keep at it. I suspect that the huge stalls have a lot to do with your body adjusting to both the weight loss and the change in calories, but eventually your body will adjust and you will lose more.

I'm under 200. What a great feeling. Thought I would never see this day ever. Good Luck to everyone. This is the best decision I have made,

I was sleeved the 17th as well. I haven't weighed myself for about two weeks because I hit the stall. I was ok with not loosing much because I was loosing inches. However now... I have not lost inches, I am actually doing everything from Protein to Water to small meals and even excersicing (been bustin my butt doing P90X). I am so tempted to go buy a scale (I weigh myself at my parents house) but I am frustrated. I know everyone says its normal, but honestly that doesn't help any.

I just contacted my nutritionist about my 4 week stall. She said it was normal at this point to hit a stall, and keep doing what I'm doing. I does stink that the scale is not moving though.

A NSV, I am off one of my BP meds, and I feel much better when I walk thru the terminals at the airport, I'm not as winded as I used to be.

I had my first TOM (post surgery) on time...two weeks after surgery. Was due for 2nd TOM this past weekend and I had some spotting but that's it. Anyone else had this problem?

My "schedule" fell about like yours. I spotted for a few days then it was full with some spotting at the end. I actually for both with the spotting have had it extended for about 4-5 days. Maybe it is just our bodies adjusting to things. This is one area I am praying for the "it gets better" effect.

I was sleeved on 12/17. My pre-surgery weight was 230. My weight today is 206 and it has been this way for about three weeks now. I haven't lost any weight since I was treated for pneumonia.

Anyone else having this problem?

From reading posts of others sleeved on 12/17, it seems we all slowed way down or stalled for a week or two right around the same time. It was very comforting to me to see that others were also stalling. I started low BMI, so I'm going to have a different path from others with more to lose. I started at 192, 180 on the day of surgery and 161 this morning. I'm half way to where I hope to land from my original starting weight, which I am thrilled with. It is scary to stall, but when you do the math, if we are taking in less than 1,000 calories a day and working out, there is no way the weight won't continue to go. There are weeks in the start where we loose a lot, and weeks close to goal and during stalls when we we won't lose anything, but it will average out. Best of luck!

Just a reminder... You still have lost more than me and I haven't stalled. I just don't lose much on any given week. I think your body is just adjusting to the diet and exercise.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
