I was sleeved Dec 4, so I am 12 days post op. I am supposed to be on full liquids. My S/O's cooking is a huge distraction. He made lasgna and I ate a spoonful. I chewed it to mush....but I still ate it. Now I'm paranoid about my stomach unraveling. **throws head back and cries**

I'm sure you'll be fine. I would go back to shakes or whatever your doctor's protocol is but I doubt you did much damage.

HUGS

OK..if it is confession time, then I have one. I am 3 1/2 weeks post op and today I ate a small brownie and a cookie. I took very small bights and chewed, but I did it and feel guilty as hell. But, tomorrow is another day and I plan on following diet to a tee!

Don't beat yourself up over it. Just be careful of your choices in the future.

I did the same thing only with french fries. My stomach hert so bad I was seriously scared that I had done damage also. I called my coordinator about it. She wasn't too happy with me but said I should be fine. That was two weeks ago and I'm good. Some people might disagree with what I'm about to suggest but here it goes... if you feel that you must have a taste of something, take a bite. chew it and then spit it out. That way, you'll get some of the flavor/taste without actually putting anything solid in your tummy.

I ate a chocolate chip cookie last night. A big one. 170 calories big! The biggest thing we have to worry about is slipping back into old habits. Just like when a smoker quits smoking and has just one cigarette and eventually becomes a smoker again!

Girl. Dont beat yourself up over cheating as long as you know it wasnt right. You are human and it does take time to go from eating normally to full liquids. Im sure you arent the only one who has done this and you wont be the last :) Good luck!!

I could have written this myself! I also was sleeved 12/4 and I made stuffed manicotti last night for dinner. I am on full liquids through Tuesday, but couldn't help myself! At first, I did what @PetraLuxor says... I took a bite of the sauce, chewed it up, tasted it... and spit it out. Four times! And then finally had to have a real bite. It was sooooo yummy. But then I've spent all night thinking not only did I just cause my stomach to explode, but I would never be successful.

Then I woke up this morning and all was well :) And I know not only am I not going to cause my belly to explode, but I can't expect to be perfect... just better than I used to be!

this is a great way to develop a full blown feeding disorder. And when you don't fear damaging your new stomach (I can't believe anyone would take a risk after surgery frankly) what will you do then? This is a sign that you need to get some help dealing with your issues with food. Take the sign before you trade one bad issue for another.

Thanks all! While I appreciate the input, I would like to caution some of you on your tone. If I am needing "help" please offer a suggestion of who/where. If you can't fathom a fat chick making a fat chick choice lol **shrugs** If you can't relate to a mistep and have no encouragement...please keep it moving. I don't need anyone being condesending (not to be confused with being honest/telling it like it is). I talked to my doctor about my spoonful and he assured me that I would be fine and that ALLOT of people slip (if they want to admit it to others or even themselves). I also understand that there are those that NEVER mistep **round of applause** Anywho, I've been back on track the past couple of days. Again, thank you for the support. In the event I mess up again...I'll be back to confess it.

I have not cheated since having my surgery on Oct 8th. I am too scared to cheat because I dump and I definitely DO NOT want to feel sick. The reason I know I dump is because I ate too fast once and boy oh boy was that not fun! I was so sick! Just be careful what you eat early on because your stomach is practically new, like a babies stomach, and it's getting used to foods again. That's why we have to follow the protocol.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
