Sleeve Vs. Rny

Recommended Posts

Feel so lucky to have the sleeve and to be 21lbs from my doctor's goal.

My best friend got RNY one month after I had surgery. She is having the hardest time and has to be so careful she doesn't eat something that causes her to dump. She is stuck on liquids because she pukes when she eats anything puréed. I am praying she can soon tolerate more food. I'm grateful for my sleeve. I feel great and am looking great too!!!

I know a few people who have had the RNY, and they have nothing but problems. Vitamin absorption issues, becoming anemic, dumping syndrome, can’t keep anything down, always constipated. I was scared to death of the RNY. I was so thankful to hear about the sleeve. Best thing I ever did.

That is exactly what she is going thru! She said she is constantly constipated. She had to go to the ER because she puked 30+ times. Ugh. Poor thing.

My cousin had it, and she takes Ducolax, like 10 or 15 because she got tired of talking to the wall at the doctors. She isint puking thank god, she isint doing half bad.... now. About a year after surgery she had her gullbladder out, and that eased a lot of her discomfort. That might be something to check into....

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
