Weight Goal Challenge For New Year's Day

We have entered into the "ember" months! Which for me means having to always keep my weight in check... so much rich sweet foods and less working out due to the outside coldness. Well I'm absolutely DETERMINED to change this habit this year.

Who's with me?

My challenge to all of you is to have some kind of weight scale goal to reach by January 1st. I being at goal will make mine very minimal. The reason being I'm not really interested in losing weight per se, but being around the same weight by the time this Winter Season ends. So my goal will be to weigh 165 Lbs. Sounds excellent to me! =) Who else is on board with me? I'm looking for some Ole Timers to join in as well!! =))

Typically in challenges like this most will keep checking in and mentioning how much they have lost. I HIGHLY ENCOURAGE THIS!! I will probably not check in as much since I'm already at goal. But I will be checking in to cheer all of you on who are trying to lose more weight.

ALL THIS SAID, please remember it is good to challenge yourself - however it is NOT good to beat yourself up if you're not losing as fast as you would like. Our bodies will lose the weight at it's own rate. The important thing is, is to keep eating healthy, drinking plenty of Water, and giving our bodies physical activity. As long as you're doing this, you WILL lose the weight.

Good luck!! :)

I've been waiting for a challenge Yay! I'm currently 236 and will aim for 199. Oh wow that sounds so onederful!! I was 21 the last time I weighed under 200. That was 30 yrs ago. OMG that's such a crazy long time ago. And that was after dieting at the time. So it's on like donkey kong! Good luck everybody lets do this????

What a great thread!! I am preop. Heighest weight 255. Current weight 220. Scheduled

For surgery 9-27-12. One more week!! Yea!! So I'm not really sure how much to expect to loose but I would LOVE to be 180 by the new year!!

This is my first VST challenge, I was sleeved 8/31.

Today I weigh 205 and I hope to be at 175 by 1/1.

I have some activity goal which should help me get there:

I want to be able to run 2 miles straight by then.

I also want to be working with a trainer on a regular basis.

Let's DO THIS!!!!!

Ok' date=' I'm in. I'm also in the Halloween contest. I would like to be 135 (goal) or a size 6 by December 31st, whichever comes 1st. I'm 166.6 so 31.6 lbs to go in 3 1/2 months. I think I can do it. I'm also training for a half marathon so my fitness goal is also to run 10 miles without stopping and at least a 12 minute mile. I'm only up to 4 1/2 miles at 13 minutes. I have a ways to go. If i keep running tge weight should hopefully come off.

Good luck everyone!!!

I haven't posted on here since my original post above. I'm at 161.2 and running a little over 5 miles at a stretch. I might be revising my final goal to 145 now. Saw my doctor this week and he thinks 135 is too thin for my large frame. I will get to 145 and re-evaluate it. Good luck everyone.

I'm in! I was sleeved on 8/23. Highest weight was 240 and current weight is 203. I would like to be 180 by New Year's Day...which is also my birthday!

I'm in....I am currently at 240 and will set my goal at 188:). I'm also striving to get serious about my workout cardio and weights, which I haven't really done as of yet.

I am 183 now would love to b....145 by Jan 1st. Also want my cardio to consist of running with out feeling like I may fall over and die at any moment. Lol:):). Good luck to all. I love these challenges!!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

Thanks for the challenge!

Sleeve date: July 3/12

Starting weight: 227

Current weight: 189

Goal weight (New Year): 177

I seem to be a slow loser, but this will be the 50 pound mark for me :)

I am a month late, but would like to join!

Start weight: 325

Surgery weight: 321

Today: 271.6

January 1, 2013 goal: 240

Workout goal: at least 4 workouts per week

Journaling goal: 6+days a week on MFP

My goal is to lose 20 lbs by 1/1/13. That would put me at 150 lbs, and only 15 lbs from goal weight. My other goal is to be better with my physical activity, it has been so hard for me because of neuropathy in both my feet. So I hearby promise to get back to swimming regularly, at least 3 times a week.

I dont get sleeved until 12/18 but I would like to join. I currently am at 230 pounds, and my goal is by Jan 1 to be in Onederland. I hope to get to at least 215 by December 1st. That is when I will be in Disney World.

I'm in - it is always so hard to pick a goal that is both a personal challenge but also within reach to attain. So here goes :D

Start weight = 278

Surgery weight (7/17/12) = 267.6

Today (10/13/12) = 225.1

January 1, 2013 goal = 185

I'm in! Like Lovely Little Miss Diva, I'm at goal, but I want to stay there. My goal is 135, and my bounce range is 5 lbs. either way. I'd like to hit New Year's Day sqaurely at goal: 135. I'll be weighing in on Fridays. I'm grateful to have this challenge to help me in maintenance. I've been at goal six months, and I notice that I have to be more careful of snack creep these days. It's a choice every day. But seeing my beautiful little clothes and moving like a gazelle instead of lugging around makes it easier to choose the apple over the apple turnover.

Lynda

Hello all:

I weighed in at 232 this morning. I am shooting for 205 by January 1st.

Good luck to us all!
