Hi all' date=' thought i would drop in and say hi.

Ive been thinking (worrying) bout the loose skin bizzo and was wondering if anyone has tried the compression clothes to help hold it all in while your losing weight?? I know liposuction people (lol) have to wear compression garments to help with the loose skin, anyhoo im gunna give it a go with the haemoroid cream and see if it helps. I am prepared to be a guniea pig <img src='http://www.bariatricpal.com/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

Lila your getting through this day by day hopefully soon it will be a distant memory.

ok chat soon

Hi Scotty - that has actually crossed my mind too - wonder if any one has tried it? I guess you would have to wear them for the duration of your weight loss which could be a bit of a pain - literal pain if it was around your stomach!

I have read on a few other threads that people swear by the compression suits and the like for saggy skin, and if nothing else it does give you a smoother silhouette! I haven't bought any but intend to at least the the running pants when I loose some more weight and I will need something to hold it all down when I start running again.

Well

Done Kelliv on starting some exercise! Don't feel guilty at all...you know yourself best and if you felt that concentrating on the food side was more important than that was the right decision. I took my girls to the park today and turned play into a circuit training session! They loved it too. I had a trainer for 4 years until this April, so exercise techniques are easy to recall. We had a great time, just doing light exercises like squats, lunges, sumo lunges, push ups, step ups and they did star jumps while I ran lightly on the spot. Plus the 45 mins round trip to the park and I'm pretty happy with today's exercise sesh! Lol.

It's been a while since I have been on, has been a busy few weeks, my sons birthday, my neices birthday. I am now on a weeks holidays, so hoping to relax a bit.

Wow everyone, your photos are great, such a transformation. Have any of you put them on through your phone or do I have to get on the computer to it. I would live to put up a before and after.

Good luck to to the ones who ate about to get the sleeve.

Lila so good to here from you, hope things are looking better for you.

I just wanted to share, I am 13 weeks post op and have reached 30kgs loss. I have lost 30.4kgs as of this morning. I have only 44 to go to reach my goal, almost half way there.

Aussie girl, that is awesome that you are enjoying your self so much traveling, and your loss is so good. I know my goal is achievable as you have done it.

I hope we can organise another catch up for all of us in Brisbane. Would still love to meet you all.

Hope everyone is well, welcome to the newbies, great work to the sleevers.

Bella - best of luck for today, thoughts are with you

Maybe we need to do a thread here with everyone surgery dates as will all our members now I can't keep up with surgery dates for you all :)

I had a great NSV yesterday - was looking for something to wear to my brothers for lunch and a swim and seen a netted top of my 12 yr old daughters (size M/L) to wear over my togs. I couldn't believe it when it fit perfectly...I was over the moon that I could fit into her clothes and showed hubby and he was blown away at it also :). She said 'mum don't tell anyone you can now wear my clothes haha'

Then had lunch with family and they were saying I'm now the smallest one of them all - THAT WAS GOLD

So I hope everyone is well and ready for the next week ahead xx

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
