Romney is worse version of Bush. Incapable of admitting when he is wrong' date=' unwilling to be held accountable for mistakes and tack. If he become president Im going to teach English in S. Korea or Japan.

I don't have the rights words to express how sorry I'm about what you going through. You seem very strong willed and courageous. I have no doubt that you will get through. My thoughts are with and wish you a speedy recovery.

Omg you guys had me laughing that's for sure!!

I had 60 to lose and have 35 to go so nearly half way there. I have upped my health insurance to cover reconstructive surgery but now after doing some research in the plastic surgery and success in Thailand may look there as an alternative' date=' who knows!! But I do not want to have to cover myself up at the end of it with excess skin which I know will be on my stomach after 4 kids so will definitely do something about it.

I am on a multi Vitamin each day but should also look at something for hair and nails to help reduce the loss etc.

It is do great seeing all the new additions and being on this journey together. It is so great having everyone here for support.

Talk to you all soon :)[/quote']

Hi Shelley, what's this about nails and hair lss? I haven't heard of ths until now. Thanks

Hi, I have had one glass of red wine at 5 weeks post op and it was lovely. I think it's up to each individual, but for a special occassion why not. I wouldn't suggest doing it in the first 4 weeks andeven then only one or two as it may affect you more.

Just catching up on the last 5 or so pages as I can't look at the forums at work.

Multivitamin: I take a Cenovis Women's Multi, as well as Swisse Ultraboost hair, Skin and Nails.

Bowel movements: Mixed. Some days I feel blocked up, other times it's normal. When I feel blocked, I drink a little bottle of pear juice (it's a woggy brand, I think San Pellegrino).

Weight to lose: Never discussed with my surgeon, but I want to lose 60kg (start weight 128kg, currently 105kg).

Also, anyone else from Geelong by any chance?

Had my dietitian appointment this afternoon. She was very helpful.

She advised my multi Vitamin is all I need at the moment but I am to get a blood test before seeing her next, just to check everything. She will then tell me if I need anything. But if I am feeling good then I shouldn't be lacking anything at this stage.

And I feel fantastic. My sleeve can handle anything (besides full cream milk). But that will change. As I was not lactose intolerant before I should be good in a few months.

Bowel movements she told me to start taking some benifibre, that will help harden up my bowel movements. Or at least make them normal.

Thanks for everyone's reply, good to know I am not the only one that has a lot to lose and am so happy to be going on this journey with a of you.

@ nessa! I can hardly believe your nearly under 100!!! WOW!!!! :D

My last weigh in was 128.5, down from 144-142ish... I'm hoping to be at least 127-125 this month (small goals, if I'm under 120 theyll be upset with me, but I've been logging my food so they will know I've been eating even it's not the amount they want - and not logging too much exercise on the sly ;)) lol

Soon some of you will be asking about how to STOP losing!!! So excited for you all!!!

Hi all,

Just thought I'd introduce myself. I am Amy, from Perth. I was sleeved by Dr Cohen at Mercy Hospital on 6th September. Best. Thing. I've. Ever. Done.

I feel like I know you all as I've been stalking this thread since the day after my surgery (entertaining myself in hospital).

Just jumped on the scales; am 9kg down, 2weeks postop. Woohoo!!

Hi everyone.

This is my first post, but I've been reading the board for a few weeks. I'm in Sydney do this thread seemed like a good place to start posting.

I got sleeved at the end of August and am slowly getting used to the changes. Part of me is not sure I did the right thing, even though I was completely certain beforehand. Fear of failure I guess. I'm not sure I will do things right and make this work for me.

Now that I've said hello I should be more likely to respond and post. I look forward to getting to know you all :)

Inevitable, I haven't been sleeved yet but at the moment I'm waiting to be booked, because of the busy hole work is right now it won't be until early 2013 for me.

Keep your chin up, everyone is scared of failing including me! But we need to support and encourage each other, any weightloss is a win and the fact you made such a major choice in having the surgery tells me that although you fear failure, you are absolutely committed! I look forward to sharing this journey with you!

Welcome to AMY as well!!!

Oh and to Lilly, hi there I am sorry you have been through so much, :( everyone here is so supportive and I'm hoping to be one of them! BIG HUGS

Welcome newbies!!

Inevitable - I'm usually the biggest negative nancy out there but what I've realized over the last few weeks (sleeved on 5/9) is that what's done is done and there's no point being anything but positive through this change.

I had the same reservations after my band and wouldn't take a compliment from anyone and convinced myself that something bad was going to happen. I ended up having a slip, packing back on the kilos and then eventually I had it removed. I really wish I would have enjoyed the time I had when things were good instead of always having negativity in my head. So this time around, I'm lapping up the compliments and taking each day as it comes. I've had a little depression session but I think that's normal and I got over it. The best possible way to heal and change is to be positive.

:)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
